Sarah couldn't believe how much she had missed the village of Hogsmead. Since she graduated, she had been back plenty of times, however, it was still never enough. She had spent so much time in this village over the years that it had started to feel like a second (or third) home by the time she finished school. So much had happened in Hogsmead. She spent so much time just wandering the lanes with her best friends in their little group. They had all been through so much together and since their graduation. It was insane to think about. Sarah rarely saw them anymore. Well, she lived with one of them, Madison, the other girl in the group. The two of them had a flat in muggle London not too far away from the entrance to Diagon Alley. And she saw Thomas often, but she had the hardest time staying away from him. He made her far too happy lately.
Sarah wasn't exactly sure when she developed this crush. And she felt so silly about it. It seemed like such a school girl thing to do. Falling for your best friend was so cliche, but she couldn't help herself. And, she had a suspicion that maybe he liked her too. However, maybe she had been reading into the situation too deeply. Maybe he only liked her as a friend and she would have to get over her feelings and continue to push them aside until they faded away. Either way, she was extremely excited to be meeting up with him. It was a nice day, though a bit cold and she was anxious to spend some time in her favorite place with her favorite person.

Thomas had spent a lot of time over thinking things. Actually he spent all his time overthinking things. Like what he would do when he left school, what he was going to eat for dinner and where he would be in ten years. In every stress dream, every panic induced spiral about his future, there was always one person there. That person was currently waiting for him down at hogsmeade. He quickly left his dorm grabbing a light jacket and not bothering to say goodbye to anyone. He was pretty sure that everyone in his family knew. He had brought her home for the holidays. Sarah Finnigan was one person he could not stop thinking about. It had gotten to the point that he had accidentally put her name on top of his potions essay. He had it bad and he was hoping she could at least give him a chance. In fact he was hoping she let him down nicely if she didnt feel the same way. And what's more he was praying she said yes to being his girlfriend. He calmed his racing heart at the sight of the blonde haunting his dreams and fantasies. He tried to force a calm smile on his face, he was nervous. "Hey Sarah, how's it going?" He said falling easily into the routine of talking to her. As nervous as he was, she was just so easy to talk to. SARAH JANE FINNIGAN

Sarah could barely contain her excitement upon seeing her friend appear next to her. "Thomas!" She exclaimed and hugged him. She was sure some people nearby would read into this, and even though she liked him and loved hugging him, she was mostly just excited to see her best friend. Since he was still a student and she was out of school and working, she couldn't see him as often as she would have liked to and every occasion she could speak to him and look at him, she took advantage of. " I am so glad to see you! How are you? How's Hogwarts? Fill me in!" Sarah missed school gossip. Someone was always in some sort of overly dramatic pickle. A love triangle, family feuds, House rivalries. There was always some sort of entertainment going around. Unless, of course, it was happening to you. Sarah couldn't help but think that maybe they were perfect for eachother. She had gone with him home for the holidays and spent Christmas with his family. Though, they were sort of like her family anyway. She had known them all since she was a baby and most of them were great friends with her. She had a sneaky suspicion that both of their families were eagerly waiting on the edge of their seats (figuratively of course) for their children to realize they were meant to be together. "What do you want to do?" She asked, gesturing around the lane. THOMAS EDWIN WEASLEY

Thomas easily returned the hug, if there was anything he had gotten used to it was her hugs. He knew that once he graduated he wouldn't have a lot of time to spend with her. He was going to take the offer to be an unspeakable. He didn't know how busy that would make him. "Same ole same Ole. Pranks, exams, house rivalry. I'm not too into who's dating who but I'm sure there's a love triangle somewhere"Thomas looked around and nodded towards the three broomsticks. He bravely tool her hand and lead her inside. "I have something I want to ask you?"SARAH JANE FINNIGAN

"There always are." Sarah nodded with a small but playful sigh when he said he was sure there were some love triangles about. She loved being in the real world there the drama was a lot less, well, dramatic. But, a part of her missed the school drama. Life at the time seemed so complicated. "At least you're almost done!" She exclaimed. She was excited for him, and she was excited for him to get to experience real life and be an adult with her. It was hard this year to be so far away from him and lead such a different lifestyle. "And then you're off to work for the Ministry, right?" The ministry was never for her, but she was happy he had found a place he liked.
Sarah was a bit surprised when he took her and and lead her into the three broomsticks, but she liked it and was glad he did so. "Okay, what is it?" she asked, her heart racing.

Thomas nodded, he didn't really pay a lot of attention to that kind of thing, he was always trying to figure out exactly what to do about Sarah. Who happened to be Sitting across from him now that they were settled in. He figured it would be be a best to ask her before the drinks came. No doubt it would be incredibly awkward if she had said no. He wouldn't leave, no his gryffindor courage wouldn't have let him. HE would order something stronger than butterbeer and hope to merlin, that he could make it through. "Yes, I got an offer to work in the department of Mysteries"He stared at the hand, he once again took into his and mustered up all his courage. "We've been friends for awhile, and not a day goes by that I don't think about you. I'm pretty sure that's the only thing on my mind besides the upcoming exams. I sincerely hope that I don't completely ruin our friendship by asking this, but will you be my girlfriend?" He asked giving her a hopeful look. He was sure his family, all of them were waiting for him to ask her. He was sure she was waiting for him to ask her, be couldn't help but feel she would say no. After all...a crush since third year...that's a long time to wait for an idiot to put his books down. SARAH JANE FINNIGAN

Over the past year, Sarah's view of Thomas had changed from best friend to maybe something more. He was her closest confidant, he knew her better than she knew herself and she was well aware of that. She loved spending time with him and she missed him when he wasn't around. The hardest thing about being out of Hogwarts was the fact that she was always so far away from him. She had once considered him family, and now, maybe she still sort of did, but family in a different, more intimate sense.
"Thomas..." She said quietly, feeling her face blush. A million thoughts flashed into her mind: she was sure that both of their families had been waiting for this for years and years and would be on the edge of their seats when they saw them together in this new more-than-friends way. She couldn't really think of anything that would make her happier, but she was also hesitant. What if it didn't work out? She'd loose her best friend. Was that a chance that she was willing to take? "Yes. Of course I will." She smiled and took another sip of her drink. "How long have you been waiting to ask that?" she smirked, going straight back to her normal teasing.

[blockuote] Thomas let out the breath that he had been holding. If he wasn't such a nervous wreck he would've realized that she was going to say yes. Of course he had ignored all the talks from his other female friends and relatives. He just wasn't a hundred percent about these things. He had been told that his family would be surprised if he wasn't introducing her as his girlfriend at the next family gathering. The statement had caused his face to turn the famous Weasley red. "Uh, third year?" he said shrugging his shoulders as if that wasn't that long of a time. He couldn't keep the smile off his face though, one thing down now just to graduate and start his life as an adult. Which was easier said than done. He knew that his parents would let him stay at the house until he got on his feet, but he didn't want to stay to long. "Tell me, how's work going and how are your folks. Its harder to keep track now that you aren't at Hogwarts anymore." He took a sip of his coffee, now that he had asked her it seemed like a weight was lifted off his shoulder. Now the only problem was finding her a good gift for the holidays and birthdays. "Do you still work at the leaky cauldron?'SARAH JANE FINNIGAN

"Four years? Thomas!" Sarah exclaimed, her cheeks in a blush and a smile wide over her fair face. She couldn't believe he had liked her since his third year, which was her 4th year. All of this time, wile they both had dated other people and she had considered him to be her best friend, he had liked her. She had began to discover her crush on him during her 7th year, last year, until that point, he had just been her best friend, he had been like family to her. However, she liked him as her boyfriend, she had wanted it for so long, though not as long as he had liked her. "You should have asked me out ages ago. We could have spent the past few years together." she teased. Of course, she had no idea if they would have made it that long, she had no idea how long they would make it, but she was excited to find out. She had been so distracted by their other friends, James and Madison that she hadn't even noticed that Thomas was there all along. He had always been there.
He changed the topic, asking her about her family and her job. "Yeah I'm still working at the pub. Just about every night. It's pretty nice, I don't really have a lot of run-ins which is great." she nodded while she spoke. She had a few unfortunate incidents involving injuries and overly intoxicated patrons, but for the most part she was alright. "I get some Weasley's from time to time." she added with a smile. "And my parents are fine, I haven't seen them in a while, but they'll be excited to hear our big news." she admitted.
