The Rulebook Make sure you read and understand them. Yes, you hate reading the rules, we do too, but we will need some of these to keep the site in running order. So, I expect everyone of you knows the basic rules: respect the other members and staffs, no advertising except in plug's boards, no god-moding, no Mary Sues and Gary Sues, IC post in third person, one account per character etc etc. OK, these are considered covered, if you have questions, pick a member online now or shoot staffs a PM and ask. We won't bite, promise. Listed below will be some site specifics, and we hope you will follow them. i. RESPECT; I would hate to emphasize this, but respect is an important value in life. We would not tolerate anyone who is being rude to the members, to the guests or to the staffs. If you have any issues, bring it up to an admin; if you have a real life issue, try your best to NOT bring it into the site at all. We all here are as sympathetic as the next person, but we have already our own lives to deal with and is sick of real life dramas, so avoid that. As of the same note, it's fine if you would like to poke someone to reply to you, but do remember it is not nice to pester them. Same goes for the staffs, even if we promise you to do something for you, or we have not been looking at your pending application (we try our best, promise), please do understand that we all are real person who has a life to attend to too. Please give us 24 hours grace period to get to your app and if we still not yet doing so, you may ask us who's online then to do it, and kindly be nice. We have no tolerance of rudeness and would reserve the rights to ban you from EHC if we find your attitude to be hard to deal with. Give us no troubles and we will not give you any. ii. LITERACY; while I don't expect everyone to do perfect posts every single time, I would love everyone to post in generally good English. I can understand that sometimes typo is unavoidable, and some grammar mistakes is acceptable, but I would suggest that you to recheck the replies before posting it up. Spell Checker can help minimizing the errors too. Abbreviations are NOT WELCOME on post. Minimum word count per post on EHC will be 150 words, but do keep in mind that it won't be nice if you reply to someone who posted 800 words above you with that bare 150 words, and vise versa. iii. GRAPHIC; I request for every character accounts here to have their own avatars, one 150 x 150px and another 200 x 350px to be fill in under your profile setting page. Banner size is no bigger than 680 x 300 px. If you need graphics, you may request at Caution 2.0, A Thousand Fireflies or just ask a set from our talented artists on EHC. Credits MUST BE given to the artist whom you take graphics from, be it from Caution or our artist on board. iv. RATING; ©Everything Has Changed™ is rated PG-13. Cussing, sex, all that jazz is allowed, don't overdo it, you'll know when to fade to black. v. PLAGIARISM; No plagiarism, period. It's fine if you're making a character based on someone you like, or base on characters you found lovable, ADAPT THEM into EHC, but any kind of copying and pasting is not allowed. Any form of stealing/ plagiarism, even if it is a plot idea, will result in permanent ban. vi. RESEARCH; Make proper research before you write, make sure that you have a full understanding on what you're writing, be it a career, character, laws, mental illness, addiction, sexuality, cultures, nationalities etc. It is disrespect to write something which you have no understanding to, in some cases it might end up insulting people who might be reading your writing. So please, make an effort on researching before you write. vii. CHARACTERS; There is no limit to how many character a member can have, but we advise you to take only what you can handle. Activity check will be put up every 2 months, and characters which failed to check in will be deleted. Character's display name should be put as FIRST MIDDLE LAST (unless your character's an Asian and he/ she only have FIRST and LAST NAME) We would love to keep our usernames standardize. On the same topic, be mindful when you list your character's age on the application. In EHC, the qualify age for a character to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is 11 years old, that is, you will only get your Hogwarts letter on your eleventh birthday, and on the following 1st September, you will be taking Hogwarts Express to attend school with your peers, no exception. Parents who chosen to homeschool their children will have to talk to the headmaster personally, to explain the reason behind the choices made. And muggleborn witches and wizards will get a visit from one of the Hogwarts staffs instead of getting the letter by owl. viii. APPLICATION; Time period for an application to be completed is 7 days from the day you've posted your app in the REGISTRATION board. Once it's has sit there for longer than the allocated time frame, we staffs will be moving your application to the ABANDONED section, where you can still edit the app and you will have 1 month's time before we move said application to archive. The reason we are doing this is to avoid all the application cluttering on the board, so we hope you understand, and can complete your application soonest as possible. On the same note, application which we find errors in between will be moved to PENDING board where you will have 7 days from then on to make your edits before we move it. Application title should be listed as CHARACTER'S LAST NAME, First Middle. ix. RESERVATION; We allow reservation on our claims/ listing, but try refrain from doing it over extended period. One member cannot reserve more than 5 faces/ positions at one time. x. FACE CLAIM; FC has to be a celebrity; no younger than 13 years old; no anime claims allowed. And be mindful about taking a FC older than character, the age of the FC must be at least convincing to cast as your character, that is, you don't take a 50 years old actor and make him a 17 years old. Mainly we are setting our age difference guideline as 10 years apart, individual cases will be look into. xi. TEMPLATE; You are not entitle to use template to post, however it is encouraged. To look for template you can easily find them at site like Caution, Shine, A Thousand Fireflies... And if you really just want something simple for your post, why don't you try something like this? CBOX; No chat speak like "u", "r" "l8r", it isn't that hard to type in a few more letters to complete the words. TTYL, LOL are acceptable. Strictly no advertising on cbox and be respectful to other members. Cbox is a place to have fun and for members to relax after a long time of typing RolePlay and all, start a good discussion of TV shows or discuss plots if you like, but please DO NOT start drama there. Use your common sense to judge what you can or cannot talk there alright? <33 Staff would have the rights to ban you if you step over the line. xiii. ABILITIES/ SPECIES; For every applications, two abilities are allowed, it could be 1 hereditary ability and one acquired or both acquired, please refrain from taking two hereditary abilities unless under special circumstance (where you have approval from the admins). Each characters can only have total of 3 abilities and not more. As all these abilities are rare we here at EHC we have a three to one ratio you should try your best to abide by; that is to say for every three characters you have one of those characters can be possessing of one or a combination of the acceptable abilities. Here's a list of abilities we allowed on EHC, do note that there are some restrictions as we do not want our site being overrun by super powerful wizards and witches. abilities - Animagus. Fourth year and above only. It takes 3-IC months to learn if not already acquired. Please do contact an admin when your character started learning the ability and the learning process must be mentioned in 3 RP posts at least. species - Giants: Half-, Quarter- Eighth or lesser blood giants are allowed. Full giants are not allowed. Please see beastiary for more information on this being. other non-accountable abilities Every wizard and witch might be capable of wandless magic, non-verbal magic, apparition and disapparition. You do not have to claim these abilities to use it. However be mindful that a wizard/ witch can't always perform those magic right, especially when under stress or when high emotions involves. Even splinching happens for a qualified wizard/ witch with a license. Just be moderate when using said magic. xiv. RATIO AND CAP; this is a rule applied to making claims, we've decide to make a ratio and cap rule so to avoid letting members to fill up everything under one section/ claim more than it should apply to. There are plenty of ordinary wizards who can be extraordinary the way they are too! So, Ratio, as we've stated above under the abilities section, we are regulating members to only get 1 character with special abilities (not including non-verbal, wandless and apparition) for every 3 characters they have. We will keep a close eye on this one and I hope that everyone can keep close to this ratio. Exception will only make if you're claiming canon on list who are supposed to have abilities. Cap, we are exercising cap on claiming, that is, each member can only claim up to three spots in a section. You may read further below for explanation: occupation claims: One member can't claim more than 3 positions under the same department/ shop at once; one member cannot claim more than 1 higher staff out of the whole claim. |
