His brother helped him a lot, giving him tips and offered to be his target of training. At the age of 12 he finally managed to enter Shin's mind for the first time, his brother brought him to a beautiful island in his mind, that place where he often goes when he's troubled. He has a pair of loving parents and an older brother named Shin. As the youngest member of one of the 12 most powerful families in Japan, there wasn't much for Ryo to worry growing up. Childhood was simple, running wild on the field, up the hills, Ryo loves the wide space and freedom he found in the land of Japan. He chase the ducks and take care of the goats, feed the chicken and help with the small farm they had on their backyard. The Teramoto family were known well for their emphatic and physical strength, the latter has a lot to do with the multiple marriage between the Teramoto and the Inoue family, which with generations of werewolf genes flowing in their bloodline. Their empathic strength allowed them to learn Legilimency easily, which skill Ryo mastered early as he turned 12. That same year, just a matter of months after he mastered his skill, much to his parent's pride, the happy bubble Ryo has been living in were broken. He was home for winter break when he was introduced to Osuka Rei, a boy who has lost both his parents just a week before. And that's not the only thing. The moment Ryo held hand with the boy, a sense of familiarity washed over him, and he could feel the boy's emotion in ways he could feels no one else's. His sorrow and grieve overcame him made Ryo blackout for a moment, when he regained consciousness Ryo found himself lying on his back and the face hovering over him Rei's and Shou's. They shared a link. It is a part of their family legacy, the Teramoro's, that every three generations of wizards there will be one who might have a chance of finding his/ her magical partner among one of the eleven other magical families, with whom together they could be more powerful than the other wizards, as partners draws strength from each other. As two among the twelve pureblood families turned towards dark arts in order to gain power, and slowly one after another family Drew away from one another, keeping their distance, partnering has been skipped the last nine generations. Their father has even forgotten the possibility of it happening, long strike it off as part if the legend might not happened again. It has skipped the last nine generations after all. Two weeks, that's how long peace held its ground, two weeks later just after Ryo and Rei went back to Mahōtokoro School of Magic - technically Ryo went back to his school and Rei to follow as he was transfered to Mahōtokoro with Ryo, now that the Teramoto is taking care of him like their own - the duo were readied to face the world's challenge together, they were not readied to face the upcoming news. The Teramoto parents, were brutally slaughtered by the same gang murdering Rei's family. Ryo was not given the chance to return home, he was pulled out of school by his brother, who has given him an instruction to keep Rei safe, and make them run to stay with a close friend of his in England. They did, Ryo tried to get Shou to come with them, who wasn't willing to. His big brother was poisoned, and there left with just days if not just hours, of life for him, which he intended to distract the enemies instead. They've arrived England when it was still white outside. The winter cold not unlike one at home, and yet it was colder. There was Rei with him, so quiet his presence and yet reassuring. Days turned into months and then years, Ryo, although unwillingly, adjusted to the life in Hogwarts soon. The two Japanese boys kept to themselves, taking care of each other because they're all they have. As he made it to the sixth year, Ryo doesn't know if he can even live without Rei now, the partner who is the voice of reason when he isn't thinking, the human genius who thinks rather than following his heart, like he does.
