It was the time of year when all the older students seemed to be fretting over their studies. Sure, everyone had exams at the end of the school year but the fifth and seventh years had the exams that really mattered. Caspian wasn't worried about his exams, he had kept up with his studies the past year and felt confident that he would be prepared for the coming exams if he kept with his study routine.
Having spent the evening doing the last of his potions and herbology essays Caspian decided to take some time to join his fellow Gryffindors in the common room. He took some parchment and quill with him intent on penning a letter to his mother if there was nothing of interest taking place in the common room.
When he made his way into the warm space he found it was emptier than normal, no doubt many students were tucked away in the library trying to cram a years worth or knowledge into their brains. But the single chairs were taken by some of the quiet bookish students. This left the couch. There was another student seated on it, so before just setting himself down beside them Caspian made himself known, "Do you mind if I sit here?"
