It was dark but somewhat pretty
COLLIN LUCAS MARCS , 420, i mean - best friends are required to properly celebrate a birthday right?
April fifth, to most it was just another spring day. She had been born early in the morning sixteen years ago. It made her smile as she woke up early, almost as if it was just her own special way of greeting the day. Even if she had woken as the sun barely crested it didn't mean she was going to stay awake, it was a Saturday after all. After a few more and well deserved hours of sleep Ellie woke up and properly prepared for the day. Birthdays were....fun, but sad. It was difficult not to still miss her father after all these years, difficult not to miss a mother who at least seemed a little happier with her life. Yes, how could she not think about the two people and the lives she changed sixteen years prior this very day?
Never the less she would try her best. Collin wouldn't be too happy if she spoiled her own birthday being wistful of things that were out of her control. It wasn't that she put an extra effort into her appearance, its just it was an important day - if only to a few people in the world. So a little anti-frizz potion and perhaps she picked one of her nicer shirts and jumpers, at least the weekend meant they could disregard the uniform dress code. Still, her looks were far from flashy, she wasn't attempting to draw attention to stick out - those who mattered saw her no matter what she wore or did with her frizzy blonde curls. And even those that didn't matter gave her enough attention for her...oddities as they might not so nicely say.
Today was not about the masses though, after all for them it was just April fifth. Instead she would focus on him, the positive, the fun. Content with her look and her mind set Ellie made her way from dorms to the commons. She didn't rush, it was always good to take the morning in for all that it was. The spring rain against the windows brought a small smirk to her lips.
"Good morning Collin!" Ellie chimed in her own happy way as she made her way into the commons of hufflepuff house. She didn't have to look to know her friend would be there waiting for her already, not that she often kept him waiting - its just it would be rude to potentially foil any fun he might have wanted to have by arriving far too early.
