Free Style Dylan Ceri Saer born, in circumstances unknown to him, but in a muggle hospital in Cardiff, Wales. The little bit that he did know was the place of his birth and that he was given up for adoption at the age of two. Dai and Alis Maddox were both Muggles working and living in Cardiff at the time of Dylan’s birth at the beginning they were a happy small family but never expected what was going to happen next. As a baby Dylan had always been a bit on the quieter side of things. He was more of the giggling, very entertained little baby. It was shortly before the baby would turn two that Dai and Alis noticed strange happenings with their son. Frequently rather odd things would happen when he was around, things would be moved much closer to him, a whole group of oddities. There was a point that shortly after he turned two that Alis and Dai said absolutely no more, they couldn’t handle what was going on in their home and took their son in with Child Services and told them the same. They figured he would be in much better hands that were trained to deal with unruly children. And things did clear up in their home but if only they had taken the chance to learn what was actually going on with their son. So Dylan grew up in the orphanage and he was always the weird kid. Things always happened around him that had been unexplainable and he was made fun of and picked on often. Very few friends for the boy that would have loved to be social he learned from an early age that there were only a few things that could be considered friends were the stories that he read from the old books inside the home. He loved his books and from the time he could read he was poured into them. He always wondered what was wrong with him though. He wondered why he had to be put in this situation and why those weird things happened around him. Those unexplainable things that confused everyone and sometimes even made the other children afraid of him, he just never understood it. He never understood why sometimes things would randomly ignite around him, or things would move or sometimes completely disappear to be found once again at a much later time. He never knew and he didn’t find out until years after he was dropped for how strange he was. The years went by and more time was spent in his books, he had good grades in school when he went and spoke Welsh and English fluently. He was a smart kid with problems. But he was always the thinker. He always enjoyed the problems that were given to him and even found his own way out of the orphanage’s security quite a few times to go exploring the world around him. Cardiff was a place that was unexplored to him. At the young age of nine, a little over seven years after his parents had dropped him in a place that no child like him belonged in he was given an opportunity to actually show that he was a good child. A young Welsh couple in their mid-twenties had come into the orphanage and spoke to some of the women that had run the place and when given pictures of the children their eyes fell to Dylan and they read the profile. Riley and Faith Saer had figured that he was a bit on the odd side because he was a wizard. And being magical folk themselves they wanted to give the opportunity to a child who never knew that he was one to be a proper one. When they met him he was reading one of his books lying under his covers on his bed. They had asked him some questions and began the paperwork and law process of making Dylan an actual member of their family. Not too much longer the family became one and Dylan became much more of an open person. He was more excitable and enjoyed life a lot more. Riley and Faith who were now his mother and father taught him why he was strange and had told him that they had experienced the same events when they were children. He was happy and they taught him about the school that he would be going to, or hopefully going to at some point. Riley had once been a Slytherin and Faith was a Ravenclaw. Dylan always enjoyed the way that the Ravenclaw house sounded. It was only two years after he went to live with the Saers and had become one himself that he got his letter to Hogwarts and proudly Riley and Faith had taken their son to Diagon Alley and got him everything that he would need for school. He didn’t even know what to do with all the new clothes. Everything before had been donated and even when Riley and Faith had taken him to get clothes of his own when he first came home with them and after he was careful to only pick out a few outfits. But here he had lots of outfits and a cloak and his wand, well that cost a lot as well. And he’d gotten everything a kid like him could want. They even got him his own owl that he promptly named Tylluan which was the Welsh word for owl. He loved the small tawny barn owl. To say the least Dylan felt like the most spoiled child in the world that day. Now was time to go off to Hogwarts. A few weeks after his amazing trip to Diagon Alley they traveled the train into London once again and got onto Platform 9 ¾ where this amazing scarlet train sat in front of him. Other students were racing around and all he could do was stare in absolute awe. He’d heard how beautiful this scene was but it was even more impressive in person. He gave his goodbyes to his parents before he boarded the train and found a compartment that had a couple other boys inside. Little did he know these other first years were going to one day become his best friends. They all talked the way to Hogwarts with a few awkward silences. One of the boys had never heard of the wizarding world until he got his letter, or until someone showed up and gave him a letter. Dylan knew that he would have been in the same boat had he never been adopted by Riley and Faith. The three other boys, including Dylan, all shared their own knowledge of the school and the houses. The talking had eased his feelings towards going to the school as well. As the train arrived and they attended the ceremony Dylan was towards the end of the list where when he sat upon the hate it announced that he was perfect for Ravenclaw. He was proud and happily wandered off to the house table that cheered for him. He was wanted, for one of the few times in his life he was accepted for who he was and into a group that wanted him. These people would eventually become friends of his, or at least some of them would be. The boys that he had met on the train all ended up in the other houses. Four boys who got on rather well represented each color of the Hogwarts Crest. Through the years Dylan had learned what he could, his first year was spent getting lost several times in the school but someone was always there to help out. And he made good marks. But one of the best things that had come from his previous years had been the friends he made. Those three other boys that he met on the train that day of his first year became great friends, even at one point joining up and starting a band together, which was a nice bit of fun. He was glad to have these guys that he could talk to. Best of friends for life, that was what these guys were going to be. At the end of their third year he found out that Amery hadn’t passed the year and it had upset him but he supported his friend anyways. Still friends were friends and even in the spats and arguments they got in nothing had ever changed that. Sometimes the spats were good, get out any tension that was there. And Dylan was sure that would never regret meeting any of them. Now Dylan’s been on this planet for seventeen years, seems like a millennium, and he’s had his ups and downs but life in the end was just beginning for him. Soon he was going to be out of school, with a job of his own, he was hoping for a job working in the Ministry’s Foreign Affairs and Sport Department where he could really learn about the world, really see what things were like elsewhere. He just needs the marks to get into the Ministry which he’s not really worried about at the moment. Let's us all just be friend, And together we can start a new trend.
