A smile came across Jayden’s face. The eldest of the four Sciarra children rarely had smiles as of late; no he was dwelling on other things that he probably should worry about but did. The fact that his siblings were all part of a world that he didn’t want to be a part of, well that worried him, but at the same time it was none of the Ravenclaw’s business. He made it his business in the end. Maybe he shouldn’t have but he did. He understood Kayden making the decision to go, but he couldn’t understand why Brayden or Aubrey would choose it, or possibly choose it. Maybe it was just time that he gave up at worrying about them. They were their own people and could make decisions for that by themselves. But as an older brother, sometimes that was hard.
Jayden found himself buried away in his studies more and more often now than he used to. But today that was not going to be the case. No, today Jayden would not find himself tucked away in the Ravenclaw common room, or in the library. Today Jayden found himself down in Hogsmeade. He loved Hogsmeade weekends. Ever since they moved here it was a way to get out of this awful school. He got to go out, enjoy the town, eat and drink whatever he wanted, especially now that he was seventeen. Jayden found Hogsmeade as a good getaway.
And a drink was exactly what Jayden needed. He had made his way down the path to Hogsmeade and found his way to The Three Broomsticks before it got busy and ordered himself a Firewhiskey before finding a small table in the back corner of the room. The taste that burned as it went down, Firewhiskey was always a good drink to have, it was better though when he was underage, drinking it when he wasn’t supposed to be.
He watched around the inn as he was sipped his drink. He didn’t always like to be alone anymore. But he was alienating himself more and more, he found himself frowning upon his siblings, but then had a hard time with the people that were closest to him.

Secrets had a way of eating up a person. Aubrey was no stranger to secrets though. How many secrets did she keep from all those who she claimed to care about? Even her brothers didn't know ever detail of her life (no matter how much Kayden liked to think he did - after all there were some things that she didn't dare let him know). And Ernie... well there was plenty Aubrey liked to keep from the boy who most everyone knew as her boyfriend - no matter how much she detested the label. Of course Tris was blind to the true nature that she kept hidden from him, an ignorant boy who could only tell her how much good he saw in her. It was a shame she kept him around, she didn't need him but...she didn't want to let him go - to lose the only pair of eyes that could look at her with out knowing the blood that now stained her ivory hands. Not that anyone but Kayden knew about that - well no Blake knew, at least Aubrey wasn't foolish enough to think that their Uncle didn't have any idea that Kayden had finally allowed her to take the next step in following in his footsteps. Aubrey would be a lair if she said she didn't know Kayden had been hoping she would change her mind before it was too late, but it had always been too late - at least for her. She'd always been too much like Kayden for her own good. Maybe it was why she struggled to see the world the way Jayden did, and maybe it was why she constantly had to prove that she was better than Brayden in every way possible. It was easy for the young girl to become caught up in the depths of her mind, swimming in the sea of secrets and lies she kept from the world. She needed a drink, or something to clear her head. Kayden had warned her of the demons she would carry should she follow his footsteps - funny how his warnings had fallen upon deaf ears. Slowly Aubrey made her way to the village - she had wished Kayden was wish her, then she could talk him into getting her a firewhiskey or something stronger than a butterbeer, after all he understood what was haunting her these days - he had been there. But Kayden was occupied with the Buchanan girl...how she hated having to share her brother's time with the girl even if she meant something to him all she seemed like was a distraction. Aubrey might have been able to ask Brayden or Jayden if they wanted to spend some time with her but - well it wasn't in her nature to make too much of an effort with her other brothers, after all they were much closer with one another she often felt like a third wheel when involved with them. So instead she was alone and when she found herself walking into the Three Broomsticks she found herself a little shocked to spot a face she knew all to well. Maybe others struggled to tell the two apart but it had always been easy for Aubrey. She wondered if it was because of the personality differences, after all growing up around the twins it was easy to catch where they differed from one another. Or maybe she just was better at noticing the subtle differences that made each twin unique. Never the less as she spotted the face that looked so much like Kayden she knew she had spotted her eldest brother, Jayden, sitting alone. A frown hung upon her lips before she found herself pursing them together. Things were easier when they didn't know the truth about their family, before they found themselves disagreeing about what was right and wrong. She knew Jayden didn't want her hunting, even more so that Kayden didn't want her to be. But it was too late to change what was already in motion. Sighing softly to herself Aubrey made her way to where her eldest brother was seated - it wasn't like she could dart out and assume he had missed her, besides how bad could a little one on one time with Jayden been? How long had it been since just the two of them sat and spoke? Aubrey honestly didn't know. "This seat taken?" Aubrey said doing her best to keep the usual level of snark out of her tone. Yes, the two of them lived busy lives these days and so often it seemed they only saw one another if another family member was present. Even though she asked Aubrey didn't wait for a real answer before she had pulled the chair out and taken a seat on it, scooting it closer to the table. Seated across from him she took his face in. A face that looked so much like Kayden's and yet - the way his eyes looked at her was different, the creases around his mouth and on his forehead screamed disappointment - or was it worry? She hardly knew the difference, or maybe she took them to truly be one in the same. In some ways it made Aubrey smirk. She would claim it didn't brother her, that she enjoyed doing things that made Jayden, Bryaden, their father, and their mother cringe. After all - she was one of the 'problem' children in the family. She'd never admit she wanted Jayden to worry though - admit that she wanted him to care about her as much as he cared about his precious Bryaden. Why didn't he care about her as much as Kayden did? She was his little sister too - so why didn't it always feel like it? Before she could think too much Aubrey spoke up, "You should get me a drink, isn't that was older brothers are for?" She was sure Jayden would get her something light, something that wouldn't even dull the buzzing thoughts in her head. After all, he was the perfect child.

The Sciarra Family was not unfamiliar with secrets and Jayden felt torn between what he believed to be wrong in his family and the right. There was no balance in life anymore, he felt like he was just an outsider looking in when it came to certain family members. It’s a terrible feeling for a brother who thought that he was trying to be a good child. Jayden was the selfish older brother but took his title quite seriously, if anything were to ever happen to his younger siblings he would have been quite upset, he wouldn’t have been able to be okay with himself. And it hurt that it felt like Kayden and Aubrey were more and more just forgetting about that.
Once upon a time everyone was much closer, not that they had ever been exceptionally close. Jayden and Kayden obviously twins, together from the beginning were close. But Jayden ruined their relationship with their younger siblings by being exceptionally selfish with Brayden. Jayden took Brayden under his wing and didn’t want to share him with Kayden. Maybe all this tension was his fault in the end, not that he’d ever believe it.
Carefully he sipped on the Firewhiskey and enjoyed that feeling that went down with the drink. And quietly he thought to himself as he watched around him. His eyes came across the girl that spotted him. Such a familiar face, one that he’d looked at since she came into his life but one that he hardly knew anything about. They were never close. She was Kayden’s, Jayden never spent much time with Aubrey. His younger sister and honestly all he knew about her was that she wanted to join up with Kayden, follow in his footsteps, possibly end up dead somewhere in this world and he’d never know what happened. He would fail as a big brother, he just felt it. He would fail his siblings and even Kayden who was barely younger than he. He took this seriously and wanted his siblings to understand why it bugged him so much.
He kind of dazed out after he laid his eyes upon her. He’d quickly avoided them off to another direction so she wouldn’t have noticed him looking at her. And soon he snapped out when words came from her voice. ”Is this seat taken?” Jaydn shook his head. ”Not at all,” he said even though she was already in the chair across from him. His eyes dragged down to his bottle and he took a rather big drink of the Firewhiskey before she had a chance to talk again. She was his little sister as well, she was the girl that had come last and he often felt bad for not having any clue about her. He’d never talked to her about decisions that she wanted to make. He wasn’t even sure she knew she could come to him. He could yell at Kayden, but he didn’t have it in his heart to yell at her or Brayden. He just wanted to make sure they would all be okay.
”You should get me a drink, isn’t that was older brothers are for?” His eyes shot back up with a slight grin on his face. ”You can’t order yourself a Butterbeer?” he asked her raising his brows. It was true older siblings were supposed to help the younger ones break the rules. Jayden had a hard time with that. He didn’t necessarily like to think he was the good child, after all if his parents heard some of things he’d done he’d probably be disowned, but those were another story for another day. ”I guess I could be a good older brother, can’t I? What do you want?” he asked her. Look at him breaking the rules, getting ready to order his fifteen year old sister a drink that she shouldn’t be having. But maybe this could help. Maybe it could help them talk. Maybe he could understand why she wanted to make these choices.

She returned his grin, hers slightly wicked in her own way. Yes Aubrey knew how easily she could wrap her brothers aroun her finger, even if they were not all that close. Kayden was easiest, he would give her the world if he could - Jayden though, sometimes he surprised her with how little she had to fight. Prepared to give a sarcastic remark Aubrey actually held her tongue as Jayden threw her off saying he would order what she wanted. "Really?" Well, he wasn't as much of a goody-goody like Brayden tried to be at least. "Well...that firewhiskey looks good" It was almost surreal sitting here with just Jayden. When was the last time the two of them just sat and talked? Aubrey found herself struggling to recall. He didn't hold it against Jayden though, its not like she was readily available and neither was he. A part of Aubrey wanted to ask what the catch was to him agreeing to get her the stronger drink, but she didn't want to think Jayden had a motive. She wanted to think this was something that was as close to innocent as things came in their family. So many secrets, hidden motives, and lies - did any of them know each other? It was a thought that was starting to cross Aubrey's mind more and more the deeper she got into the family business. "You know they say only depressed people drink alone Jayden." Her jokes always tended to be dark, and not all that funny. She hoped Jayden wouldn't take her remark too seriously - after all she had been coming here to drink alone herself. Maybe they both had issues. Of course Aubrey knew her issues...at least she felt like she knew them. She knew what was causing most her troubles - but was there something else deep down? She wasn't sure, it was terrifying to explore where her fears and nightmares came from since it was the life she was trying to hard to live. It wasn't easy to explain to others why she was so desperate to follow in Kayden's footsteps. It could seem like hero worship, but that was only if you wanted to believe she had one reason solely in itself - of course it was foolish to think her life revolved around her her brother and doing her best to be just like him. She was doing this for herself as well, even if no one seemed to understand this. "...You're not a bad brother by the way, even if you had made me buy a butterbeer - well actually you might have been one if you actually made me pay for it myself as well. Still - I mean Brayden adores you so, you do things right." She loved Jayden too, she just didn't say it as much, but he knew - right? She looked at her older brother, a small soft smile on her lips - still her eyes were tired these days, sometimes seeming dull even. She wasn't the little girl she used to be, the one that was so easy to love. Now she was grown, she made mistakes, she had a mouth and temper - she was a difficult child and stubborn about letting people in. "So, why are you alone? Pretty and smart boy like you...yet you choose no company? Strange man you are Sciarra." She couldn't just out right ask Jayden anything personal, it felt strange to pry into his life, as if she wasn't meant to know some parts. Still she was a curious child still and Jayden didn't seem like the sort to isolate himself, so she wanted to know - but would she actually get answers? Aubrey waited to find out, her blue eyes fixed on her brother to indicate she was awaiting his answer.

Aubrey seemed a little thrown off when he told her that he'd get her a drink. It was most definitely a selfish reason that he was doing it. While he would always have her back if it came to it, he just didn't know how to hold a conversation with her. He got up and went to get her a glass of Firewhiskey before coming back and sitting back down and handing it to her. ”Hope you enjoy it,” he said with a small smile.
”You know they say only depressed people drink alone Jayden.” Jayden looked at his sister. ”Guess you caught me, but weren't you coming to drink by yourself as well,” he noted to her. He wouldn't have said it was exactly a secret that he may have been more on the depressed side, but could one really blame him? He avoided a part of his family that his siblings came to be a part of, he didn't know how to approach it, the worry alone was enough to eat away at someone. Then, being gay in the wizarding world generally meant that you would either find the right one, or just become a lonely wizard. Currently being alone was a little hard. So maybe he was depressed. But to say he was the only one with issues in his family would be pulling just one part of the puzzle. They all had their own issues, their own ways of dealing with stress.
”You're not a bad brother by the way, even if you had made me buy a butterbeer – well actually you might have been one if you actually made me pay for it myself as well. Still – I mean Brayden adores you so, you do things right.” Jayden smiled slightly. ”I would never make you pay for your own drink, I'm not horrible now,” he told her. He never thought he was the greatest elder brother when it came to Aubrey. Sure that was his own doing, and he understood that, but often he wished that they could be closer. If they had maybe she wouldn't have chosen to try and follow in Kayden's steps. But this wasn't something he could dwell upon.
”So why are you alone? Pretty and smart boy like you... yet you choose no company? Strange man you are Sciarra.” Jayden looked at her and frowned ever so slightly. Why did he choose to be alone? It could have something to do with the aforementioned lack of partners. He'd honestly been kind of mad with Kayden recently so he didn't bother to really go hunt down his best friend. Brayden just hadn't been around so he'd come down to Hogsmeade on his own. Was he here alone by choice? Maybe... he wasn't honestly sure. ”To be honest I just wanted a drink to think about things, no one seemed to be able to join me,” he told her. Jayden enjoyed spending time with people, he wasn't particularly a loner. He thrived with people and sure he could have spent some time with friends, but he'd not been quite actively looking for anyone.
”I'm kind of glad that you came in, I am glad that we're able to spend some time together, even if alcohol has something to do with it,” he said with a smile. He took a nice heavy drink of his firewhiskey. ”How about you, fairly strange to see a pretty, smart girl choosing to sit in a pub in Hogsmeade alone,” he asked her wondering what brought her down here to enjoy some time alone from anyone else.

It was hard not to smile at her eldest brother when he brought her over the glass of firewhiskey. A peace offer in some ways she guessed - or maybe just a way he could be sure she would stick around for a bit. Even when she was trying to assume her brother had no motive, she assumed there was at least some motivation behind his actions. "Thank you, Jayden." There was a sincerity in her thanks. Maybe Jayden didn't know what she was trying to drown with the whiskey but he would at least know she was actually thankful. Carefully she took a sip and tried not to show how it burned. Maybe she thought herself a grown women but it was clear she still had yet to grown accustom to the raw throat burn of firewhiskey. She stifled her cough and composed herself as she tried to mutter about good burn - yeah, sure. She didn't get it because she loved the taste though, did she? The corner of her lip twisted up when Jayden threw her joke back at her. "Guess the pot shouldn't call the kettle black or something like that?" Was she depressed? She didn't like to think of it that way. Stressed. Maybe a little scared. Not that she would admit it - she had to be strong after all. They all had to be strong. Were all families like their's, accepting nothing short of perfection? Maybe it was just the way the teenage girl saw it. Still, how had Jayden survived? He wasn't a hunter after all, so how did he handle the family pressure? Truth be told though Aubrey wasn't sure what family pressures were put onto Jayden these days - her world was far to intertwined with Kayden's that she never realized just how little she knew about her brother's current situations. "So...that means I can just come to you anytime I want a drink than?" She joked lightly. Of course Aubrey wasn't sure when they would do this again - if they would do this again. It had been chance after all, would they ever just decide to sit down for a drink together - just because? It was strange in some ways because she wasn't sure what they had in common in more. Childhood play in the California summer sun seemed so far away now. "...you could have asked me..." Aubrey chewed at her lip after the words slipped out. Yes, it wasn't like Jayden asked her to do much with him - but she rarely sought him out asking for his company as well. "I mean I've joined you now, so it doesn't matter, but - next time I guess, you could - if you wanted, ask me." It was about as close to asking for his attention she had come in some time, unless you counted the few times she needed help with her homework. There wasn't a motive behind this though, at least not that she could think of. Just an offer, a step closer to rebuilding their bond. When Jayden turned the attention on her though she feel quiet and her gaze went to her drink. Another swallow and fighting the burn. "...I could have asked Ernie to come with me - but I don't want to encourage him too much..." Yes she could have asked the gryffindor to escort her for a drink - but she was too comfortable with Ernie these days, she let her guard down and the way he made her feel - she felt weak. "Besides...Kayden always makes threats whenever he finds out I've been out with Ernie....yet he can spend all his time with Bryony." So maybe Aubrey and Kayden were not as tight as they had been before he started dating Bryony, which didn't help matters when she needed Kayden's support the most. And if not kayden than Ernie. "I'll never understand why its okay for him to date her, but Merlin forbid I spend time with the guy I've been with for sometime now..." At least Ernie would protect her, even if he was overly protective. Of course Aubrey still avoided calling him her boyfriend or even putting an actually amount of time on their 'relationship'. She still was too proud to admit he was a weakness for her. Still Ernest at least knew what their family was, knew what they did, and he still was around - what did Bryony bring to the family? Silly pictures. "What he see's in that girl I will never understand..."In so many ways Aubrey was still treated like a child yet felt like she was expected to handle everything like an adult. "I guess you could say I came here to drink and think as well brother."
