Look here, what Do you see? Are You Looking Forward to Get Tangle Up in Me? FULL NAME Valeriya Josephine Rousseau AGE & BIRTHDAY Nineteen born on birthday in 16-MAR-2005 OCCUPATION Dragon Trainer (Ravenclaw Alumna) BLOOD STATUS Pureblood FACE CLAIM Emilia Clarke WAND TYPE 12 inches, Hippogriff feather, Hornbeam wood. PATRONUS A Pygmy Dragon PETS No personal ones, but she loves and cares for every dragons she came in contact with. ABILITIES Animal Communication - Dragon Since the age of five, Valeriya shown that she has a rare and special gift: The ability to communicate with the dragon kind. It is only dragon, she soon discover, she can't understand any other animals, but dragons though, seems to have formed a special bond with her since then. Her mom saw talent in her daughter, she was soon sent to the Blenkinsop's to learn about dragons. It was Valeriya's request after seeing those two dragons locked up in the zoo, and she wanted to do something about it. Her talent comes to her naturally, there's not much training needed. It was inherited from her mother's Tchaikovsky side of blood. Tell me who you are, I'm sure you're some kind of superstar. Free Style A- adaptive Valeriya is an extremely adaptive individual, regardless where are you putting her at, what situation, even if it is uncomfortable, she'll find a way to adapt to her surrounding. It is a rare gift one won't expect from a girl who came from a well off family like the Rousseau, and has much to do with the days she spent at the Blenkinsop's farm, running wild at the field with their son Jacob, tending to the creatures at their farm. She has high endurance, able to withstand any situation if it would guarantee her something in return. One who sees her at first glance would expect a weak girl soul resting inside that thin body, with her snowy pale hair neat dresses, indeed that's where you have it wrong. Valeriya is perhaps stronger than any men you ever met, and brighter than any scholars you ever seen. She's after all, a proud Rousseau and Tchaikovsky, the best among both families. B- baby sister Before there was Madeleine, she was the baby of the family. Valeriya certainly isn't resenting that, she loves her baby sister out from the deepest part of her purest heart. She was jealous before, because the baby is always the one who gets all the attention, but soon as she grown up older, at the age of twelve exactly that she realized how having a baby sister is a blessing, it is a God's gift. She grown to be so protective of Madeleine, while she doesn't have too much time to spend with her - and they do have their different interests, while Maddie is into music, Valeriya is into magical creatures and running wild out on the field, climbing up the trees just to see hippogriff flying past. But that - and being different age, and being in different house, and soon graduation - couldn't stop Ria from running to her sister's protection at the first sight of danger. Valeriya is very protective of Madeleine, to the degree that she will break a law or hurt someone if that helps keeping Maddie out of harm's way. Though of course, she doesn't actually wants to break a law, plus, there's always Leo jumping head first into doing stupid things before herself, so she is probably safe at that department. C- childhood "Valeriya! Wait up!" A boy called down the hall, accompanying that the sound of a girl's cheerful laughter, the footsteps pitter-patter down the marble floor. "Ria!" At the sound of her brother's frustrated yelling, Valeriya finally skirted to a halt. She turned back to her brother, stuck out her tongue and brought up two hands up to her cheeks, palms opened facing him, "You cannot catch me, you cannot catch me!" the girl teased in a singsong voice, then turned around again and ran. The boy chasing after her heaved a sigh and shook his head, and off he went chasing after her again. "Valeriya! Wait til I really catch you little girl! I am going to beat your buttock until you beg for mercy." And that was childhood for Valeriya, especially after she came home from the Blenkinsop's, walls around her just couldn't content her. Day and night that Valeriya craves for the open field, to run down the hills with Jacob chasing down behind her, she could run pretty fast which Valeriya is proud to note too. That was childhood for Valeriya, those endless fun later turn into responsibility. Now a grown up at nineteen years old, she is certainly wearing nicer dresses than those she wore at the age of seven, but that doesn't stop her from just taking off at moment's notice, be it to chase after a Aethonan, or to scale a tree so she could see the hippogriff passing by, the wild child in the girl has not disappear as she grows up. D- dragons That day, Veronica thought of bringing her children to the magical zoo in Romanian - the only one in the world which has dragons - to show them what the Tchaikovsky (her side of family) usually deal with. While her siblings all ooh-ing and ah-ing at all the animals on display, Valeriya found herself looking at a two-headed Gilded Bloodscale Dragon, the two head were busily arguing among themselves the best way to escape this place. "Excuse me, erm, Mr. Two-headed dragon," Little Valeriya voiced out to get their attention, and in unison both heads of the dragon turned to look at her with their strange greenish-yellow eyes. A moment of hesitation crossed that young mind and she bit her lips and gave them a shy smile, "I couldn't help but overhearing your plan. Have you tried breaking out of this cage before?" "Yes of course yes," the head on the left told her, "We have tried it so many times haven't we," he looked at the head on the right, who nodded, "And once we almost succeeded, but you damn wizards knock us out with your spells, I still remember how painful is it when I woke up and found myself back in this bloody place." "Yeah, I hate it when they use spells on us," agreed the right head, "You wizards are all bad folks, locking us in here, separating us from our family." "I'm sorry..." the girl does feel for the creature. Whatever they did, they don't deserve to be locked up like this, deprived of their freedom. Everyone should be their own. "What are you doing? You are making the girl feels bad," the left accused the right, then turned back to Valeriya, "It is alright, darling, it's not you who kept us in here." "But her kind did! That they tortured us and kept us in a cage. Have you forget how they flog us just to get us listen to them?" "No I have not forget. But she's not the one doing it." "That's could be her mother, or her father, or her-" "Can I interrupt for a second?" Valeriya finally spoke up, both heads of the dragon turned to look at her, the girl held her hands up. "OK, what if, I can get you out?" she suggested, pressing her lips together as she thinks, that little face arranged in deep concentration as her blue eyes scanned her surrounding. Finally, Valeriya tilted her chin up to point at the corner of the cage, "Look at that, if you can burn that lock you can get out of here." "Oh the lock, how the lock is so obvious there and we never see before?" the left head asked the right, shooting his partner an accusative look, then he turned back to look at the lock before turning back to Valeriya again. "One problem, there is magic protection on it little girl," But Valeriya just smile, But you can find a way around it, won't you? It was two days later, back in the Rousseus manor when their father opened up the Daily Prophet to read as he eats, there was the news at the front section, "The Dragon Escaped!" it screamed. Valeriya just smiled and finished her breakfast. E- expectations Valeriya's life was filled with expectation since the moment she was born. The first girl in the house of Rousseau, the first Ravenclaw, which has luckily not disappoint her parents. Veronica was very proud the moment she discovered Ria's ability to speak to dragons - and so was herself to discover that she has a gift no one seen in her family for over a century. A Rousseau grows up knowing what the world are expecting to see from them, even though she isn't going to take over her father's business, her parents had expected all their kids to be someone with great influence in the magical world. At the age of nineteen now, it seems good as any year for her to start her journey to the top of her game. What Valeriya wasn't sure though, is what had she left to do when she hit the peak, what is her expectation of her own future? F- fears Everyone are afraid of something, that includes of Valeriya. The fear for losing a loved one, fear for losing herself, and fear of confinement, her three greatest fear in life. Other than that? Well she's rather afraid of being burn alive, from what she could imagine, that is a rather gruesome way to die. But Valeriya is not afraid of dying, she's rather afraid of dying pointlessly. G- generous Valeriya has a generous heart, what's ask of her, as long as she could see the person needed her help, she would offer a helping hand without any more questions. As she knows she has enough to give, she knows that she has the ability to share, because of where she was from and who she is. There are a few times which her father ever express about Valeriya went into too great a length to help others, but she was not stopped and neither would she willingly stop just because a few words were said. When she decided to offer help she would be there to see through the process, unless it is the person who she's helping proven not worthy of her time. H- hogwarts, first day "Rousseau, Valeriya Josephine." Came Valeriya, age 10 just then, her birthday is 5 months away. Her snowy blonde hair made her stood out among the group in black, and so was her expression. It was not fear on her little face, not even nervousness, but pure determination, like she knows what she's doing, and perhaps she did, she had head all about Hogwarts from her brother Leonid. Sucking in a deep breath the girl climbed onto the stool, it is a little too tall for her then. She could see the room, her blue eyes went searching for her brothers, both of them in the house of green, and then Jacob sitting at the house of red. She knows which house would make her parents proud and the rest would just bring disappointment, she especially can't be in the house of Lion and yet Valeriya had two hearts about sorting into Slytherin. When the professor put the hat on her head it almost cover her whole face, she could hear nothing but blood pumping in her ears, and then there came a whisper in her mind, just a light touch, like the voice is speaking straight to her consciousness. "I see great talent, raw and needing more training perhaps but destined for greatness no doubt. There's kindness in your heart, determination and fierceness. Creativity, you're a dreamer indeed. There's also bravery, this is not going to be an easy sort... I will say, you should have a freedom to choose who you want to be. RAVENCLAW!" Cheer erupted from the Ravenclaw table, when the hat was lifted the young girl quickly look towards the three faces more important to her than the others. Ravenclaw, the house of eagle, it treasure one's intelligence, creativity and individuality, who knows it would be the house which fits her most. However as the years gone by, Valeriya knows that she can't be sorted into a better house, all the rest would just affect her from being who she is, but not Ravenclaw, she has the full right to be herself in the blue house. I- immature Part of Valeriya Rousseau still behave like a five-year-old running down the hills screaming at the top of her lungs. She's immature, although she doesn't always show that side of herself, the girl who has the wildest dreams and the most innocent wishes. Forced to grow up before her time, this is a part of her she hid deep inside, a Rousseau shouldn't have weakness, they should be calm and collected, knowing what they want and how to get it, not wasting time on pointless dreams which would get them nowhere. Miraculously, the girl kept her dream alive, confided them in her best friend, the boy who know her best, he is the only one who ever see this immature side of Valeriya Rousseau, the one who dream of making the world a better place and freeing people from blood prejudice and old believes. J- jacob blenkinsop He would never know her feelings for him, and Valeriya is too proud to tell. Day after day that she looked at him, and she looked at him and marveled at how little effort he seems to need to tend to those wild beasts on his field, how easy it is for him to take heavy loads onto his shoulder, carrying them back home for his siblings. He loves his family, those love plainly written on his face, those are the kind of love she as an outsider would never get, she as only his good friend, or at least she thinks that they are good friends. They should at least have that right? The line she sees of her relationship with Jake was blurred, she can't see where they stand no more, not since the last kiss he gave her, one she thought has a meaning. Maybe he finally come to realize her feelings for him, although she doesn't know how because she has always kept it so well hidden, tug away behind those kind smile and playful jokes. It didn't help her understand everything better when there came a letter from him, a letter which speaks of goodbyes and apologies. Ria has never finish reading it, stuffed it under a bunch of other things inside the drawer of her dresser. The realization of him really gone from her life was too much to handle. It scares her, and what scares her more is the fact that she wanted him back, she needed him back into her life, it is a weakness she will never admit. He is a weakness she will never admit. Because a Rousseau is not weak. The next two months spent with her brother in Dorset, UK seems to ease her off this pain she was feeling, she knows that regardless of what's happening in her life, she will have Leo being there for her, supporting her action and her dreams. Seventh year was a good time for her to push him out of his mind, concentrating on the simple task of studying instead, it was rather easy to forget everything else. She got herself straight O's on NEWTs, both her parents were overjoyed, even throwing a party to celebrate her achievements. That she allowed herself taking a little pride in it, even though most of her remained numbed and empty remembering how she walked away on that day she arrived home. The year went by in a blink of an eye, and there Jake was standing on the platform when the train pulled up at King Cross, the last trip she would take home from Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, she didn't bother to say hi, headed home with her brothers and sister without sparing one more glance at that boy with a head of thick dark curls. He had grown different during the time separated, just when she thought he won't be different from how she knows him, there he is looking darker and stronger and bigger, it doesn't help the wild pang of her heart. And she walked away that time, with her back straight and her head holding high, even though it felts like everything was messed up on the inside, she took steps away, just like how he took steps away from her. Perhaps if not the news that Barnabas Blenkinsop has fell ill Ria would be off somewhere else having the adventure she was planning to have after graduation, she has been hoping to see the world a little, to learn more about magical creatures before jumping right into her work life. Because of the news, she stayed behind instead, and often found herself at the Blenkinsop helping in everywhere she can which included bringing the family herbs they needed to tend Barnabas back on full health. Her plan to ignore Jacob could only go so far, especially when they're so close and she has so much she wanted to ask of him. Some questions she still held back, about that last kiss about that letter, about what exactly he thought of them; Valeriya doesn't want to lose a friend, even though they seems to be standing at a dangerous place as a pair of friends. K- kindness Another of many traits Valeriya holds, she's often kind towards others, it doesn't necessarily mean that she would ever be catch in a situation of being used by other. Valeriya cares for others, like many of the female population, she's is one individual who's rule by heart, she feels deep she would allow herself to make decision base on those feelings. It might not be a good quality, definitely not one in her father's eyes, kindness is a form of weakness, it blinds a man into making choices they would regret later in their lives. But Valeriya is no man, she's a lady who realize her own power and knows how to use it to her advantage, the kind of woman Veronica had always hoped her little girl would grow up to be. Kindness is not a weakness, it is not one in Valeriya's eyes, indeed those relationships she build with others out of kindness and truthfulness are stronger than one would get out of a relationship built out of money and power: she was not feared, Valeriya was respected and loved. L- leonid rousseau The second son of the Rousseau, one who's just a year older than she is, from the moment Valeriya knows enough to remember, he has always been there for her. The happy moments she had with Leonid, racing down the hall, getting into troubles, he's her partner-in-crime, her protector, her big brother, her playmate, her strength when she's weak, her role model... There are certainly many more roles Leo had played and still playing in her life. But he's not only that, Leonid Rousseau is irreplaceable, even if she has the power to choose her own brother, she would still choose him. The brother who carries her around when she could barely walk, even when he's barely bigger than she is then, the brother who hold her hand when she's afraid, who sings her lullaby when her mom and dad were not around there were a storm blowing outside and she can't sleep. If there isn't a Leonid in her life, Ria knows that it would be very different, because life as she knows it would be very different too. Leo is not just her brother by blood, but because there's Leonid, there's Valeriya as she is today, because he has not abandon her, he even allowed her follow him to his Quidditch practice when she was grieving over Jacob's sudden departure - she had not shown her sadness of course, better to not let Leo knows how deep this hurts her in case she would ruin his friendship with Jake. Leonid is the best big brother any girl could ask for, the best big brother anyone could ask for really, and she count herself lucky to have him in her life. M- maternal There is a maternal side to Valeriya most won't see on her at first side, but when one sees the way she's gentle and careful around the animals, they would see it, her maternal nature in the soft smile hovering on her lips, her blue eyes checking on the creatures with such affections, even though she might be just seeing it the for first time. N- natural talent When Veronica learned of Valeriya's ability to speak to dragon she hired Valeriya a tutor to teach her more about the mystical creature. The mother was proud of Valeriya's skill, it came quite surprising, because she would never thought after skipping so many generations this rare skill would be passed down to her little girl. Veronica has not waste the chance to brag about this to her brothers too, the fact that Valeriya is a girl though hasn't impress Erik much, he doesn't think there are much that a woman could do. Valeriya learned very well, she has natural affection towards animals and the curiosity to learn, not to mention being a quick learner. She could remember everything she read, seen or heard before, especially of those she heard before, regardless it being a story or a sound, or even complicated songs, she can remembers and recite the lyrics back to you after she listen to it twice. Veronica was proud, she has always been a feminist and unhappy of the treatment she receive at home from her own parents, she should have inherited the Tchaikovsky's wealth fully, she is fully capable of that, more worthy than any of her brothers or even her husband. She also sees a great deal of herself in Valeriya, and sworn to give her daughter every ounce of support to guarantee her success. It included helping Valeriya make it towards her goal when she decided to become a dragon trainer when she finally made her decision. O- orderly She likes her things in an orderly manner, like her books must be arranged from A to Z, her dresses must be arranged in colors, and she must have a shower before breakfast. Having everything in order let her feel that she has control over her life. Though she like neatness, but to call her a prissy girl, or even to say that she's anywhere neat, she's not neat, she just has the need to keep things in order, it is easier to find things that way, it make things simpler that way, when you have an arrangement for everything in your life. Sadly though, not everything in her life runs in an orderly manner. P- pride Not surprising, Valeriya is proud of both herself and her family. As a Rousseau this trait is almost an inevitable find on the girl, she was taught to see what she own, by far they have more than any normal of the same age or even older than themselves. That and many achievements she had made out of the brief year of living, Valeriya too has a good reason to be confident of herself. Pride got in her way though, sometimes, that makes her unwilling to say certain words out loud or to admit her weaknesses. Pride indeed is her greatest weakness. Q- quest Like everyone else in the world, Valeriya is on a quest, she's searching for a future, searching for herself, searching for a place she truly belongs with. Where she is seems to many that she's on the right path to a successful life, there are times though when she herself would doubt it. Looking at the cold respect between her parents, looking at the Blenkinsop parents giving their everything to care for one another and all their children, this girl could understand how sometimes having money and a luxurious life doesn't promise a happily ever after. What she wants perhaps she has already an answer, it is hard to imagine Valeriya not knowing what she wants. But is she brave enough to admit her desire and reach out for it? That's perhaps the very reason of her still being on this endless quest. R- rousseau siblings, the She was gifted with another sister when she was three, Valeriya remembers how she likes to hover around her crib, dangling toys above the baby girl so to 'play' with her. "Ria, Madeleine is too young to play!" her mom would tell her off everytime she caught this girl doing that. "But she can see how much fun is it, so that she can grow up faster and play with me!" Growing up with two brothers Valeriya had always crave for a company of another girl, now she has Madeleine, how could she even resist playing with her? And she is so adorable with her eyes twinkling and those occasional smile, her hair is brownish, different than Leo's and her's, more like mom's than dad. This young girl wishes for brown hair, it makes her feels like Madeleine is already closer to mom than she could ever be. Her love for her siblings wasn't weaken by the comparison her parents put them up against one another, that Viktor would always be the first child and he's getting almost all the attention since he was young; Leonid too, but Ria is close to her second brother, that he would play with her when he doesn't have to spend time in private lessons their parents arranged for them. So there were all these pretending cooking session these two kids - later three when Madeleine knows enough - play, and the dress up session when they sneaked into their parents wardrobe and dress up in their expensive suits and gowns, then laughed at each other until their stomachs hurt, giving their house elves heart attack when they found them, hurriedly helped the kids out of those clothes they did before they do any damage. When she was old enough that she got herself a toy broom, now she could fly with her brother, but she isn't good at flying on it as Leo does, yet it is still fun. Her time spends with Madeleine isn't quite the same as time spend with Leonid, they are close too, but with Madeleine Valeriya gets to do those girly stuffs like plaiting her hair and trying clothes out, coloring, painting and making handicrafts, also the time reading stories and play-acting as those characters in the book, and holding mock concert - although Valeriya only know how to play a xylophone - with their two brothers as their faithful audience. Those are the happy memories Valeriya keeps close to herself which helps her through even her toughest days. The Rousseau siblings are close, even though many people suspected otherwise. S- stubborn When Valeriya made up her mind, she isn't one to give up or give in easily. She's stubborn, her stubbornness is those kind which won't break until she was proven wrong. One going against her need to know this one thing, most of the time when she had set her mind on doing something, Valeriya got it done her way. T- tchaikovsky, the The Tchaikovsky, her mother's family. It's from which line she inherited the skill to speak with dragon. Her mom had made sure Valeriya knows the family from a young age. She isn't extremely close to Erik's family, especially not Brenda's girls. Valeriya is fine with those boys and girls from the outside though, those bastard kids Erik brought home from his lover from the outside. She likes Jessenia especially, and she gets along well with Kristy, not like she agrees with everything that girl does. And Elena is like a big sister whose visits always makes Valeriya perks up. Everyone are not too close, the Rousseau and the Tchaikovsky are not, but close enough to be family. U- unafraid Valeriya is brave, however most of the time she's just a shell showing her brave front. Unafraid might not be how she feels but it is always the mask she wears, protecting that little blonde girl inside who has so much to want and too much to lose. V- valeriya It was that lovely season, spring had just arrive bringing along the warm wind and flowers were just blooming in their back garden, the shades of green had finally some color dotting among them, and inside the house there was a woman screaming at the top of her lungs. "One last push, give it your all!" advised the healer, her words were drown in another high pitch cry of a woman, and then the sound of another voice, a baby wailing, loud and clear joining it filling the bedroom. "Congratulation ma'am, it's a girl," That simple sentence had her mother's face broke into a smile like most parent would. Veronica reached out her hands offering to hold the child, the healer passed her over. Gently that the woman folded the baby in her own arms, the baby girl gone quiet almost immediately, like she knew her mother. Veronica touched that warm cheeks gently, her blue eyes softened with hint of love, her baby girl, the first girl of the Rousseau family, "Valeriya Josephine," Veronica announced, rocking the baby gently in her embrace, "Valeriya, you're going to grow up being so beautiful and wonderful, you will be so bright and charming and intelligent that nothing can bring you down, and you will always be wanted, always be desired, your presence would never be ignored. You will grow up to be a strong woman having your own world, Valeriya, you will be successful, and powerful, just like a Rousseau always is." W- wand The kids learned about Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry since young, Viktor was the first among the Rousseau to get his acceptance letter, that one sunny morning came an owl swoop into the kitchen, Valeriya was both happy and proud of her brother, as well as being a little jealous - a little? Try brimming with green sourness. She too, wants to go to Hogwarts and learn. Leonid got his letter next, and although sending him off at the station was tough, Valeriya managed not to cry. Crying is a sign of weakness, the little girl learn very quickly to keep her emotions tucked up until she gets somewhere alone. She has always been that strong one in front of the others. The summer after she finally turned eleven is where the real fun began, she looks forward to that letter every day, she is already two years late into Hogwarts in compared to Leonid, who told her everything about Hogwarts, the hovering staircases, the singing armor, and even the Moaning Myrtle bathroom fascinated her. Her letter arrived with her brothers' on that one sunny day, she was dancing around the living room singing because she was so happy. They went to Diagon Alley to get their things right the day after, Valeriya always love the shopping district, she loves it more that particular day having able to get her school needs - books and school robes - and more notably, her wand. 12 inches, hornbeam wood with Hippogriff feather as core, it was perhaps the most stubborn wand in the shop that she took, she took a long while to get the right one too, tried 17 wands before Mr. Ollivander passed her that one. It was her's, like destiny, they belong to one another. X- xylophone Valeriya still remember the instrument of her choice when she wanted to play music with her baby sister, xylophone seems perfect in a five years old eyes, the little thing which makes lovely music when you hit it with a stick. She had grown out of it soon, music has never been her calling, but the old xylophone she was given still sitting in a display set on the top of her bookshelf. She treasures old memories and there's nothing older than this, her first xylophone so she could play music with her younger sister. Y- yellow Valeriya love the color yellow. Yellow: the color of the mind and the intellect. It is optimistic and cheerful. However it can also suggest criticism and cowardice. One would seldom find her in yellow clothes though, for she seldom come across something in yellow that she loves, for other colors compliments her skin tone more. But there hanging among the pile of blue and red and beige, is a pale yellow dress which she loves, which she has owned for a year now and haven't find the perfect occasion to wear it yet. Maybe one day she would put it on, for that special someone going to special somewhere. She has hope anyway. Z- zodiac sign Born on 16 March makes Valeriya a Pisces. Being a Pisces born on March 16th, your personality is characterized by an intense, experimental nature. You meet all life's matters with passion and if something strikes your interest, you will pursue it with all your heart. This intensity is greatly appreciated by those closest to you, especially when your devotion is applied to your personal relationships. Although some people rarely stray away from what is familiar, you love the opportunity to try something new. You will truly try just about anything, even if its only once. While Ria doesn't actually believes in zodiac or Divination much, part of the descriptions does ring true to her person however. Passionate with what catching her interest, she is dedicated and daring, willing to try. It is what makes her a Ravenclaw brilliant as she is. Let's us all just be friend, And together we can start a new trend. |
