Look here, what Do you see? Are You Looking Forward to Get Tangle Up in Me? FULL NAME Rain Olivia Xanthopoulos (Real name: ChaeHyun Goo) AGE & BIRTHDAY Fifteen born on birthday in 3-AUG-2009 OCCUPATION Fifth Year Slytherin BLOOD STATUS Known: Pureblood/ Actually: Muggleborn FACE CLAIM Arden Cho WAND TYPE 13 inches, Jobberknoll Tailfeather, Kao PATRONUS Cape fox PETS June - a snow white parrot who only know how to say rain when it's raining. ABILITIES Seer, ChaeHyun didn't discover this till after the ritual which bound her and Rain together. Now it exist as a nagging instinct in her guts, like a six sense telling her something's wrong when it is, but she can never tell and has not an actual vision yet. Recently it has developed to the point where she started seeing this blonde girl in her dream. A girl she was sure she never seen in her life before, but she looks strangely familiar and telling her things which could happen, which might already happened, she wasn't sure. This ability is possibly temporary. Wandless Magic; On numerous occasion she displayed her ability to do magic without a wand, while most witches and wizard might've used their magic when they are young, they do not have the ability exert control over it. Learning Occlumency. Tell me who you are, I'm sure you're some kind of superstar. Free Style It was just another ordinary evening, seven years ago. The sky was a beautiful shade of sapphire blue outside, dotted among the glimmering stars flirting winking to any watchers, Spring wind slightly chilly on the skin. It was that early of the year that snow had just melted and flowers yet to bloom. "Sir, Master Fabien has urgent message requesting to see you," Howe Xanthopoulos turned to gave his servant a glance, a second was spent as he make up his mind, then giving the servant a cult nod. "Send him in," he said. The servant gave a bow and left with quick steps. It was a short moments later the sound of footsteps approaches. "Uncle," Fabien addressed him, his tone respectful. Came beside his uncle Fabien stood, "We received reports of magical sightings in a muggle village in Korea, Joseph and Gwen was almost certain that it is her." "Almost certain?" Howe raised an eyebrow at his nephew, his facial expression was hard to read otherwise. "They haven't the chance to see the birthmark, it could be tricky, to search a little girl for a birthmark which could've be anywh-" any further words Fabien wished to speak, he swallowed them back down at the sight of his uncle's raised hand. One work under Howe long enough to know that nice as he usually is, he's the kind of guy who accept no nonsense. How else a leader of this family get everyone to listen to him? "Do you think I will hire them to do the job if it's easy?" Howe asked, his grey eyes tinkling with fierceness which would make one no doubt of his strength. It had been a long day, longer time since they started this search. He has to fulfill his great grandmother's death wish and find this girl. "Find out more about her, make sure Joseph and Gwen do the job they were hired to do." "Yes uncle." And the man hurried out the study to give his uncle what he requested. It has always been a part of her, that little mark on his shoulder looking like an angel. Her father had told her that it is her guardian angel when she asked about it, it makes her feel special now whenever she looks at it. Not a freak, she's special. Goo ChaeHyun has not an idea just how special she is, apart from the fact that she can make things happen simply by wanting it to. "Like magic," ChaeKyu tells her that everytime something like that happens, the two of them kept her using it a secret. The twins were close as they ever be, ChaeHyun was just glad that she has his support, she was just glad that she has him by her side at all time. "Goo ChaeHyun! Mom was asking us to go to the market!" Speaking of the devil, there came ChaeKyu screaming down the hall, ChaeHyun quickly buttoned up her shirt and open the door to look at her big brother. "Oh, you're always so loud!" she complained, but there's a small smile on her face. It's true that she has always been the quieter of two twins, born just that fifteen minutes after her twin brother, she's the younger one, but logical and bright she always acts like she's the older ones. "Come on," Hyun let herself out and closed the door behind herself, she reached out a hand to her brother, "Let's us go to the market." That accident which took away their father was a big hit to them all, the family spent so many hours in tears, though what this girl doesn't know was that the rest of her family - especially her mother - was crying not just because they've lost a loved one, they were also crying because they haven't an idea what would happen from then on. Just one day, ChaeHyun promised herself, her arms wrapped around her twin, Just let yourself be sad that one day... And the next day she was the one standing up helping around home when the funeral was going on, her eyes were red but they stayed dry. ChaeHyun is a strong girl, she has always been one. That was a bright wonderful day, the kind lady even gave her a loft of bread for saving her family's cow. ChaeHyun and ChaeKyu went home hand in hand, if they have lost everyone else, they are contended still having each other. No one expect that even this privilege belongs only to them will be taken away. There was a big, very expensive looking car parked right in front of their house, sleek Silver color, the logo announcing it as a BMW, plate number XAN 556 G. ChaeHyun gave her brother a confused look, a look ChaeKyu returned, both children were wondering what's up. They stepped into the house to find two strangers inside, a man and a woman. The man should be in his 30s and the woman looks to be 25 - 40 years old, she has one of those faces which is hard to tell the age of. ChaeHyun felt herself tensed up the moment they look at her, like raising alarm she just felt they have something to do with her. Had someone discovered that she's using her magical powers? Her mother speaks with quick tongue, introducing the man and the woman, explaining their propose here to adopt ChaeHyun, speaking of how kind they are. ChaeHyun knows, without needing to ask, that the two strangers must've given her mother a big amount of cash to have her grinning so wide. The words of her begging her mom to let her stay fell onto deaf ears, they were taking her away. ChaeKyu helped with the begging but nothing could be done to turn the event around. The twins were separated, ChaeHyun was sped away in the expensive car before more could be said or done. The tears she shed that day was for the pain of betrayal. When the trio touched down at Paris, it was drizzling. ChaeHyun was ushered into another expensive looking car, this one in black with tinted windows, and they were off for a long drive out the city. Her tears dried up long before she came to this foreign land. They traveled by the normal way - the muggle way - here, by cars and private jet - with fake passport which were prepared long before they came to her, like they knew she would follow. Soon the car slowed down to a crawl, and right in front of ChaeHyun now stood a giant house perhaps even the term "mansion" isn't enough to cover it. They passed through a giant gate which reached up high to the sky, the stretch of land on either side of them seems to has no ends to it, and that long driveway cut through the middle long and winding, leading up to the three stories tall building, she had never seen anything like this: timeless, graceful, beautiful beyond words. She could not stop gaping at it which made the two adults at the front laugh when they saw her expression. "Better close your mouth before a fly gets in, kiddo." said the male who told her to call him Joey. She did as told, blushing slightly, curious eyes still looked around eagerly, capturing every details she could process. She wondered what's her purpose here, two adults told her that there's someone eager to meet her, and she could ask him all her questions later. Well at least she knows two things for now: She's here for a reason, and she's about to meet a man, whoever he was, he hope to see her, enough to produce great fortune and go through all these troubles to get her here. And she couldn't shake the feeling that this has everything to do with her magical power. What would you do, if you get to learn the truth about yourself that has completely shattered your believe about who you really are? What you thought you were the whole life, is actually a lie told by the man who think you're just too young to handle the truth, the man you love and respected your whole life. ChaeHyun is a witch, well, we've figured out that much, since the first moment she mended that injured raven by the side of the road, and when she make flower glows just by wanting it to. She is actually a Xanthopoulos, a very old, very close knitted family. And a family who only produce witches. Yes, only witches, no wizards. It has something to do with a very old curse put there by a very old enemy. The Xanthopoulos are also generations of trained Dark Wizard hunters. Learning all these would perhaps be a little much for any little girl at six to handle, however ChaeHyun easily accepted her identity, it explained so much about this bizarre power she held, almost relieving to know that she's not an outcast, but just a part of another community; she's not abnormal, she's an unique individuals, like all those superheroes out there. She's magical, just like ChaeKyu always told her she is. Life without her brother by her side is certainly tough, but she learned to get by, day after day. She soon learned to find her way around the house without getting lost, her schedule soon filled up with lessons and trainings which designed to help her catch up and control her magic. ChaeHyun is an unusually talented kid, she learned to grasp control of magic very quickly, and her having photographic memories allowed her to pass every theoretical tests like breeze. That a year had passed, and then two, three, four, and soon came to the year before her age to be admitted to school, that no doubt she would get into Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. That one day, she was summoned into the office to see Howe Xanthopoulos. The girl knocked on the mahogany door and waited to be called in. "Come in," ChaeHyun pushed the door open and let herself in. Howe was sitting behind his study table, a reading glass perched on his slightly uneven nose, which he pulled down to look at ChaeHyun when she enters the room. Howe is long-sightedness. "Good afternoon, grandpa," It took her a whole year to accustomed calling someone she never met before her grandpa, but in many way, Howe Xanthopoulos is her great grandpa, it doesn't make him less fearful though. While all the girls in this family inherited power, it takes a strong man to control a family like this, it takes a true leader to keep everyone in control. The fact that Howe is already in his hundred and still in power spoke something of this man, while mundane, he's not simple. "Good afternoon," he gave ChaeHyun a smile which never quite touch his eyes, "Come on in, take a seat." The girl obeyed and took the sear opposite him, she waited for him to speak. "How many years has it been now, ChaeHyun? You've grown so much." The man finally said, an opening. Until now ChaeHyun couldn't figure out what kind of man he is, and the girl is usually good with reading people. "Five. And I thank you for everything you've given me, even allowing me to go to school." Five years, she learned so much within this short period, now she is even speaking French like it is her mother tongue. "You're my great grand-daughter, I hope to see the best for you." Taking down his glasses, the man wiped it with the sleeve of his shirt, "I am just so glad that I could see you, that we can have you back with us. Your grandfather was stubborn when he walked out that door. It's just good that everything worked out well." ChaeHyun gave a sweet smile, "Me too." She wonders where is this going. "ChaeHyun, have you thought of what you wanted to be, like when you grown up?" While this question might be a little odd to ask of a 11 years old, seldom anyone of them can answer this question with confident too; at the age of eleven, you've yet to even figure out who you are, let alone who you want to be. But ChaeHyun's answer was certain, "I want to be an Auror, like Aunt Gianna, like everyone else in the family, I want to rid the world of dark forces, protect the magical world to ever be tainted again." At this, the man let out a smile, his expression almost pleased, "Well said, ChaeHyun. I am so proud of you," he told her, "And I am sure you will do fine." School letter came as soon as she passed her birthday, in came in a beautiful flower shape, brought by the prettiest snow white owl she ever seen. ChaeHyun tore opened the letter and read the words, the smile on her face and excitement in her eyes lit her face up. While many students goes out to shop for their school needs, ChaeHyun has hers specially made for her. Tailors and wand makers were summoned to the house to give her measurement, and when things were done they were delivered. Perhaps a life many would envy, but ChaeHyun would really give anything to be like a normal kid and go out shopping for her own things. She kind of miss her casual freedom hanging out with ChaeKyu when they were young. The most exciting perhaps is the arrival of her wand, 13 inches, Jobberknoll Tailfeather, beautiful Koa wood, ChaeHyun loves it beyond words. And she knows, she knows that the wand and her were made for each other, it felt like the world had settled the moment she held it in her hand. Needless to say, ChaeHyun is the top of her year in school. She's bright, she's hardworking, she grown to be really pretty and with her Asian heritage, she's easily set apart from the rest of the students. She quickly became popular. But popularity is a double-edged blade, while she has everyone surrounding her and wanting to be her friend, this girl wasn't sure she really has one. No one who can understand her like her twin brother does, but of course she has long came to accept that he couldn't be in this part of her life. Has she kept track of ChaeKyu's whereabouts you might ask? She does, she had ask Gwen and Joey to help her keeping an eye on her brother and inform her if anything happen. There wasn't any bad news so far. Or perhaps they were just concealing the truth from her. She breezed by the years in school without much happened. Well, there came her first crush when she was in second year, the boy let her down; she and her friends almost set a classroom in fire in her third year during one late-night sneak out, then she performed the most brilliant transfiguration spell ever, showing off to the professor who has been mean to a friend of hers; her first date happened on her fourth year and with this dark hair, blue eyed boy she had her first kiss too, but they broke up a year later when ChaeHyun realized that she wants more than just a simple life of marriage, with four children running around and they both working a day job to keep them afloat. It is a beautiful future, one she craves, but she knows she isn't made for it. The boy moved away the year after. And by the end of fifth year came, ChaeHyun was called to her grandfather's office again, this time she wasn't just being asked question, but given a mission to complete, a mission which would determined whether she will be fitting to be a part of Xanthopoulos. She met Rain for the first time. Rain, or more often been called as Rainnie is a sweet little girl with brown curly hair and big emerald green eyes. To have green-colored eyes as beautiful is rare, ChaeHyun was a little jealous of her. She is very beautiful, with a very sweet smile, and when she is just nine. "I won't be hurting her, will I?" She asked her Aunt Gianna for the umpteenth times, couldn't help worrying. So I have mentioned that the Xanthopoulos is generations of dark wizard hunters, did I not? They have recently heard news of the new dark force rising in England, and they need a spy to be on the case. Young, talented, a new face ChaeHyun is, she is being suggested by Howe to be in choice of this mission. But first, she would needs to be convincing, she would need to conceal her identity as a muggle-born child. Occlumency would take a while to practice, they have an easier way and that involving putting these two girls in a ritual. "No, you won't. She will be put into a slumber as long as the spell still bind you two." Aunt Gianna told her, but ChaeHyun isn't quite convinced. She just nodded. Sitting in one of the sage circle facing Rain, ChaeHyun offered the other girl a smile of comfort before the ritual starts. After confirming with both girl that they were readied, they both nodded, and the witches started chanting their spell in old Latin. It was fine until their both uttered their parts of binding spell. As soon as the last syllable out of ChaeHyun's lips, she felt it, the hint magic spreading from her chest, dark and vicious. No, her fear reflected in Rain's green eyes, while ChaeHyun was worrying that she's hurting the other girl, Rain's fear was for something she was feeling, that something she was losing. And she screamed. ChaeHyun wanted to stop it, but she couldn't move. Sitting still in the circle they put her into, she could just watch when a white haze floated out from Rain's body and float towards herself. Her heart beating fast, there wasn't a thing she could do, she harmed the young girl, who now laid unconscious in the other circle. It settle on her, a pleasant presence which made her skin tingled, a blinding white light exploded before her eyes, ChaeHyun sucked in a deep breath as a rush of memories and thoughts through her. She felt... Rainnie in her thoughts, whispering everything she knows to herself. And she noted her name: Rain Olivia Reinhardt Xanthopoulos. ChaeHyun wasn't told the whole story, she doesn't know all of her family's history, she doesn't know how the Xanthopoulos knows her existence in the first place, nor did she knows the length her family would go to destroy a particular enemy, one who had cast spell on their family all those centuries ago. Worst of it all, she doesn't know that she is just a pawn all along in this long game Howe Xanthopoulos was playing. She was a tool since before she was born, a premonition from Howe's great grandmother has foretold her arrival. She would be the one to take down the Reinhardts. When she opened her eyes again, every felt so fuzzy. It felt like she has forgotten a lot of things, or perhaps she had, she can't remember a lot of things. "Rain!" she heart someone calling, "Rain is awake! Grandpa! Rain is awake!" Moments later came into her sight a boy with the most beautiful blue eyes. Someone she thought she doesn't know, but yet she does. "Hey, Raphael," her voice came out barely a whisper, it croaked at the end, she blushed embarrassingly. "Here, water," he told her, carefully tilting a glass of water to her lips, she gulp it down greedily. "Hey now, careful kiddo," he told her gently, acting the way she's familiar with, and somewhat she's not that familiar with, Raphael Xanthopoulos has always been that big brother for her. "What happened?" As soon as she emptied the glass she asked, dark eyes searching her brother's for answer. She was confused, the fuzzy haze rested in her head unable to shake a way. Apparently the ritual they went through were forgotten, many things were forgotten. She wasn't sure how and why she ended up lying here or what had she done to had Raph hovering by her bedside with an worry expression. "You fell," she was told, "From a broomstick," Rain blinked a few times couldn't remember the incident. She then frowned and shook her head. The healer came in later to confirm that she has amnesia, partial of her memories were lost, most of short terms ones seeing she could still remember her family and her own names. The syndrome could be temporary, or permanent, there was no telling, and there isn't anything they could do to help. "She will come around on her own," they told Howe, "Meanwhile, perhaps moving to a more peaceful environment would help her condition." they had also suggested before that left. Watching the boy and girl happily playing on their broomsticks on the outside, Howe allowed himself a smile. "Everything is set in motion," said Gianna who was looking at the two children by his side, she took a deep breath and shifted her weight to the other leg, crossing her arms in front of her chest. "But how do you expect her to fulfill her part without her knowing anything?" At the words, Howe just smiled. "He will come to us, Gianna, have faith in our plan," he promised, his finger absentmindedly playing with a ring with German inscription on its inner surface, translated "Fierceness of a victor", the second part to the Reinhardt's family motto: "Courage of a warrior", "They will know we are looking for them." Curse of a blood-purist, there left two Thomas Reinhardt in this world, Reinhardt and his son Drew. The end of this battle between families is finally approaching, after a millennial, and they can finally remove the curse place upon them. What Howe hasn't realized was that in his eagerness to chase down the Reinhardt for revenge, they had swayed away from their original path of goodness. Capturing Carol Reinhardt, torturing her, taken her daughter from her before murdering the mother was an act out of cruelty. Twist of moral value was taught to young Rainnie, she was taught to hate her own family and all dark wizard. Having the girl scarifies herself for the greater good of the Xanthopoulos family, not for the greater good for the cost. He just knows that the day for revenge is finally approaching, and he will wash the curse off their family with the last drop of Reinhart's blood. Everything was a setup, everything was in plan, a plan which ChaeHyun - or now known as Rain - doesn't know. What that ritual did to her, or the other girl, she taken the other's girl identity. Not just her memory, which is partial, but her whole existence, her essence. Could she return it, maybe, maybe not, definitely not easily. What that ritual did to bind them together had erase a big part of who ChaeHyun is, she has no memory of her own past, her days in Korea, her moments shared with ChaeKyu. Right now, she is no more as Goo ChaeHyun, she is Rain Olivia Xanthopoulus, the pureblood daughter taken in by the Xanthopoulus and raised by them, she was given the best so far in life, and all those lovely moments she shared with her adopted brother Raphael, he has always be by her side. She has the Reinhardt's ring hanging on a necklace around her neck, it is her family's heritage, the last gift of her mother (or Rain's mother, Carrol Reinhardt) When Howe arranged the brother and sister to move to England, she did little to protest. Somewhat, Rain has always wanted to see the land where her birth parents were from, to go to the school her parents studied in before. And that was how the Xanthopoulos siblings came to this foreign land, they've registered into the foreign school. After all arrangement were made, the boy and girls were sorted into their house by the sorting hat: Raphael was put into Gryffindor, and Rain was put into Slytherin, they will be attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry next year. Let's us all just be friend, And together we can start a new trend. |
