Pascal was not a man who technically had to work, the gold that rested with in his vault was testament enough to this, but Pascal was not the sort to sit by idly and do nothing with his life. Many would suggest that bring a translator was a simple job, something that anyone could do and not something to be proud of, but how many could actually do what he did? There was much more to his job than counting to ten and knowing how to say hello.
Today had meant to be his day off, but an urgent owl told him that would not be the case. A member from the Spanish council was meant to come in and the translator who had been assigned to him was out with a mild case of dragon pox. Pascal had never been keen on feeling rushed the ministry, he detested when extra urgency was put on him to show up such as situations like this. Honestly though who enjoyed feeling pressed for time?
Nevertheless Pascal was not late and he came prepared as always. The hours of his day off ticked by one by one, and just like that it was six hours gone. He kept his frustration to himself, it was good to take opportunities such as this - this was how you advanced in life by making sure you were known. It didn't hurt that this job was allowing him independence from his mother, after all his betrothed would be graduating at the end of the season and there would be expectations of himself soon from his mother and Brigitta's parents. It was intimidating even if he dared not to express this aloud.
He hardly was paying much attention to those around him as he walked the halls of the ministry, his mind drifting to how he could spend his day now that he was free to enjoy it. It was his own fault for being distracted, he caught a few of the papers that had spilled into the air when he had bumped into them, thankfully it was only a minor bump and not a full collision.
"My apologies, I should have been paying better attention to where I was walking..." Although Pascal was apologizing there was a slight flatness to his tone, it wasn't that he was unapologetic, he just could be awkward in these situations; after all men like himself didn't tend to 'bump' into others due to mindless distractions. Doing his best to help collect the fly away papers he offered the ones he had gathered, "Here, I hope I haven't caused too much of an inconvenience to you."
