It's dangerous to fall in love But I want to burn with you tonight
Four months, they had been doing this for four months. Imogen stared out the window of her flat with a cup of tea in her hands. Darius was still back in the bed and here she was wondering just what they were doing. It was rare that she slept alone, she hated to admit it but when she lay solo in her bed she often found herself reaching out for him, they always switched up whose flat they slept at.
Even his dog, Lucy, would come along when they decided it was just easier for him to spend a few days over. But they were just friends. At least that's what they still seemed to answer when others inquired about just why they seemed to be spending more time together these days. All of this had stemmed from one night of a few too many drinks. Yes the first time had actually been unintentional, and maybe the second, but it would be a like to say the third time had been unplanned - and everything that followed.
Really, what were they doing? Now she knew she couldn't place blame on him, after all it wasn't as if she was a shy woman and yet she seemed to do what she could to avoid talk about what was going on with her and the beautiful man sleeping in her bed. The beautiful pure-blood man. Not that blood purity seemed to matter all that much to Darius...at least not like it did with his parents. Yes, she had no place in that world - and yet, some how she found herself treading lightly around it.
None of this had been intentional but it had gotten away from her. It had warped into its own beast of sorts, things were starting to become complicated. Imogen would have to be a fool to honestly claim this was emotionless at this point. After everything she had been through here she was again making stupid choices and putting herself in situations where she was undoubtedly going to be hurt. After all, what good was going to come over this...situation? Her thoughts were quickly becoming a mess, why did he have such a hold on her? Surely no man was worth this much worry, not even Darius.
Thinking she heard his footsteps her gaze drifted from the window to the room, she wondered if she had distributed him when she woke and her lack of returning - or had he just woken up? She stared at him fro a moment as she tried to figure it out, and maybe just because he was pleasant to stare at. "Mornin'." She said softly before taking another sip of her tea, "The kettle still has hot water if you fancy a cuppa."

Darius stretched carefully, as carefully as a half sleep person could. He didn't want to disturb the person sleeping beside him. When he finally managed to open his eyes he realized why he had even woken in the first place, the bed was empty. Darius was used to being alone, in fact he wasn't even sure why Immy not being in bed with him would wake him up. Okay he did know, the problem was that it shouldn't be that way. It had started with a few drinks, mentions of some tattoos -damn those tattoos- and he had had intrigued. It was just supposed to be for a night, to prove that he could move on and have a good life. It was supposed to be simple between to friends, who knew exactly what they wanted. Darius didn't want to fall for anyone ever again and he was sure falling for immy would be easy. It wasn't hard to see all the amazing things about her, however thats not what he needed. What he needed was to keep himself from making the same mistakes. Finally pushing all thoughts of the pending complications he got out of bed. Heading towards the kitchen he wondered if Immy had gotten dressed yet. If she hadn't there was a chance he would get to see those tattoos again. He wasn't a shallow man but Darius had come to love those tattoos. Tracing them was his favorite thing to do when they were just laying in bed. He found her staring out the window in thought. He wondered what went on in that head of her. He firmly believed when she was silently thinking she was planning something. Not sinisterly like he was a costume to from snake in his former school house. But immy had a way of getting him to loosen up and have fun...it worried him sometimes. "No thank you" He said coming to stand beside her. "Whats got you so deep in thought?" He asked looking out the same window. IMOGEN NIAMH MERRITT

It's dangerous to fall in love But I want to burn with you tonight
When he came to stand beside her Imogen found herself moving closer to him, she even seemed to lean her head into his chest. There was just such a familiarity to being so close to him. Funny how easily the lines blurred these days, she was growing far too comfortable. "Hmm? Thinking, more like wondering why I'm up this early when I don't have to be." She looked up at him with a smirk. Not entirely the truth, not entirely a lie. She wasn't about to drop such a heavy topic on him when he just woke up though.
"Its your turn to make breakfast." It wasn't that Imogen couldn't cook, she just didn't care to. Potions were more fun to make, cooking was just time consuming and the spells just could be so temperamental it seemed. Okay so maybe she just needed to spend some time mastering her house managing magic. But....she wasn't a wife, she wasn't even a girlfriend. Here she was trying to 'find herself' or something deep after breaking off the relationship everyone had expected to end in a marriage but instead she was hiding. Together they were hiding away in some dreamland, pretending none of this mattered, it was just two adults enjoying life. Except she really was starting to like enjoying life together.
She just couldn't let it go today could she? This was literally driving her crazy it seemed impossible to get her mind off of the matter, or him...they were they same thing. Maybe it was time for Imogen to plan a trip; one that was out of country. Darius would find a way to come though...as if she could actually tell him not to come. This was her life now.
"Oh and, as you can tell, I borrowed your shirt. It was closer, I hope you don't mind..." Had it been closer? Imogen really wasn't sure if that was the truth. It didn't matter though, as if he would be mad - and as if taking off wouldn't solve all the problems (while creating other problems). She liked the loose fit of his shirts, how his cologne lingered. She really needed to get her act together this had gotten out of control. "I'm off today but I forget....are you working later?" Of course it wasn't normal for her to forget things like this but she was distracted in a number of ways.

When ever she was around Darius's body always sought her out. Whether it be sightly nudging her when they were working together alone, briefly touching her arm in a "friendly" way when he said hello, or like now as he wrapped his arms around her loosely. Darius was no stranger to the feelings of falling for someone you shouldn't. In fact the only difference between his situation then and now is that Imogen was way easier to fall for. If he actually stopped denying his feelings that is. "That is a good question, I also wondering why you're up so early we could be in bed, the pillows are extra soft this morning" He said with a slight yawn, if she was contemplating more sleep he was down, mostly because he was something akin to inferi without a cup of coffee. "Right my turn, any request?'' He was pretty sure he cooked last time but he wasn't going to say anything. In fact, he didn't actually mind cooking either the magical or muggle way. Not that he would actually admit that and he would deny all accusations of him cooking to his friends. They didn't need to know how deep he had dug himself into this relationship that really wasn't a relationship. In fact HE didn't even want to know how deep he dug himself. I don't mind at all, you look better in it than I do." He was sure it was just him enjoying her wearing his clothes, like the small voice in the back of his head saw that as a small claim on the beautiful redhead in his arms. A claim he shouldn't even want but he wasn't going to argue because he was off for the day. 'Yes im off fo the da i switched days with someone"IMOGEN NIAMH MERRITT

It's dangerous to fall in love But I want to burn with you tonight
Imogen took a moment to reach over and place her mug of tea on the nearby table so she could take full advantage of Darius's arms coming around her. With her hands free she now was able to loosely wrap her arms around his midsection. She tried not to give this action a second thought - after all why waste an opportunity for affection...harmless, emotionless, affection. "So is this you admitting that I have the better bed than Mister Zabini." There was a cheekiness to her tone. Not that they debated who had the better bed because they were not dating so it wasn't as if they were trying to figure out whose flat they needed to move into.
Tip-toeing she stole a short kiss from the man who she was wrapped around, it was hard not to want to kiss someone who just was so adorable when they were half-sleep. Plus, he didn't even argue when she said it was his turn to make breakfast. A part of her wanted to wander back into bed with Darius, except it would mean they would cuddle and fall back asleep. Something that went against the nature of being just friends."Well...since we don't have a house elf here too cook us breakfast in bed...pancakes would be a lovely way to start the day - and I can get that pot of coffee going for you." Just because she made him cook didn't mean she would force him to do everything himself. Besides could he blame her for enjoying him cooking shirtless in her kitchen? Or with just an apron...
"Looks better coming off me too." She really was cheeky this morning...or maybe Darius just brought out her extra playful side. She'd given him a wink before dropping her arms and moving from his to get his coffee going. As tempting as bed sounded the idea of allowing herself to get even more emotionally involved with Darius was terrifying.
When Darius said he was off Imogen nodded to herself before turning her head to look at him. He had switched with someone? She didn't stare, that would give away that she was now reading into an action he took. Why did he switch his shift? "Oh, so you have plans today than?" Now maybe it was contradicting thoughts, she had been asking because she wanted to have him around but here she wondering why he switch a shift so that they might have a day off together. Was it easier to try and assume there was another reason? Some how Imogen had decided to ask though. Now she found herself busying herself with making the pot of coffee. With out looking at him she spoke, a louder than before. "Sorry, never mind, its none of my business why you switched your shift...." She was going to ruin the good thing they had going if she wasn't careful.

Darius smirked and rolled his eyes "This is me admitting I need to know what cushioning charm you use on your pillows" He was not going to admit her bed was more comfortable, not that he was trying to win an on going argument or anything. No that would mean that they slept over each other's house enough to be able to tell which bed was better. They were just friends and friends didn't do that. Of course friends didn't do a lot of things that they did, but he wasn't going to dwell on that. If he focused on that he wouldn't be able to enjoy her in his arms.
Darius sleepily kissed her back, in a just friends with benefits kind of way. He would never admit that he was sort of weirdly affectionate with Immy, way more than he probably should be for their situation but again, things they were not going to talk about. She mentioned something about pancakes in bed and coffee. Coffee was probably something that he should invest in, least she try and manipulate another defeat out of him. Not that he had been defeated, he thought he maneuvered out of that trap quite well for someone half asleep. "Pancakes, bacon, and coffee. that sounds perfect" he wondered if his parents would blow their top if he borrowed the house elf, if only he could convince her to go back to bed.
"I'm inclined to agree, also I feel I should offer my assistance helping you out of it" Of course he just wanted an excuse to get her back in bed. He was positive that conversation over breakfast would lead them down a path he was not ready to walk. Then again he wasn't a coward, he was just worried about how things would change. He didn't have the best experience in this department and things were actually going good for him.
"One of the healers needed time the day off for his kid and since i knew you were off today i figured I switched." Of course he didn't need to mention how quickly he agreed, or how her being off that day instantly popped into his mind. No that would be a bad idea, all the warning signs were there and he quickly pushed them away. He was very good at pretending like nothing was going on between them.
"So how about that breakfast?" He asked reluctantly removing his arms from around her and slowly making his way into the kitchen.

It's dangerous to fall in love But I want to burn with you tonight
It was amazing how easily they slipped into this. The way they casually threw jest at one another in a way that verged on far more than just friendly. She didn't want to admit how comfortable his arms had become to her. It was easy to forget for a moment that this wasn't allowed. To just enjoy him admitting to not admitting that he liked her bed better. It made her smirk all the more as she looked up at him. She just could never admit that she was looking at him as if there was no one else in the world in that moment.
There was something she liked to savor about his sleepy kisses, maybe it was the way he didn't try - how he just kissed her how he wanted to in those moments... Stop. She was doing it again. Thankfully they had started to talk about breakfast though, and she was quick to change her thinking to that instead.
"With blackberries?" Once again Immy was being cheeky, maybe she pushed her luck sometimes and asked a lot of Darius (after all they were just friends that had sleep overs), but at the same time, she had the black berries so she was only asking that he add them her pancakes as he cooked them. Maybe it was because she felt a little bad about being demanding for breakfast so she stood tip toe and pressed a kiss behind his ear, and maybe just a little playful bite. She just couldn't help herself, they were in her own home - no one was there to see them, this was their own little secret in their lives that seemed to be such popular subjects for friends and family. "Thank you." she mumbled sweetly before moving to press a kiss to his jaw before escaping his arms.
Biting at her lip she didn't give a verbal retort to his statement of offered assistance, instead she only gave him a wink before scampering off to start on the coffee as she promised. Of course a part of thought of telling him he was mental if he thought he was getting his shirt back, but of course he would be welcome to help her out of it. Still, she held her tongue, eventually he would realize it wasn't actually his shirt anymore. Soon Darius was explaining how he had traded his shift, his mention about how she knew she had today off resonated with her. So, he did this to spend more time with her. Immy found herself pausing in the preparing of the coffee. She needed to just let the statement go. Just leave it alone.
"Yes, blackberry pancakes, please and thank you - love." She had peeked over her should at him and cast her famous smirk before returning to fixing up the pot of coffee. It was best to just leave it all alone and enjoy a good breakfast with a handsome man who seemed to desire her attention....just like she was craving his.
