Free Style Matthew is the oldest of three children into a family that liked to work with magical creatures. A family that was so very welcoming to anyone and everyone that they could. Matthew was a happy child, content and one that enjoyed his life with his family. Eleven months after Matt was born his younger brother Jacob was born. Matt wasn't old enough to remember Jacob's birth but the two grew up quite close. And four years after Jake was a girl, Abigail, the younger sister of two brothers. Matthew remembered his sister's birth and he enjoyed her very much. At this time Matthew had gone to muggle primary school. Even though the family were magical their parents believed that it was good for socialization and a good way to prepare their children for later going to Hogwarts. Matt did well with his school studies picked up on them like a dog chewing on a bone. He enjoyed his classes much more than most children do. He enjoyed reading and learning all he could. He wasn't like Jacob who enjoyed doing whatever he could on the family farm. Matthew enjoyed other things, he enjoyed the inner workings, the numbers, the knowledge that was required to make the farm work. Matthew liked to helped his father with building new things, he liked to figure out how to plan them. He was just a boy who wanted to know how things worked and the brains of animals were often too much for him. When he was ten a younger girl who was two years younger than he was came to join their family. Vera was a girl from a different family but they accepted her like a sister and never wanted to treat her differently. She was a squib and Matthew had read a little through his years of squibs through his parent's books. They were people that were born to magical families but were not magical themselves. They weren't sure if she was indeed one when she joined the family, but it was a waiting game until her Hogwarts letter did or didn't come. And honestly Matthew couldn't understand what it could have been like for her. He had experienced his first sign of magic when he was three. A fit of jealousy over Jacob getting a toy for his birthday that he wanted and he managed to set a fire to the rug nearby. It'd scared the crap out of him but his parents had been very proud when the signs had shown. A year later he had gotten his Hogwarts letter and got prepared for the school. He was so very excited to go off to the school. He came from a family that was large in the Gryffindor house but he wasn't sure if he would fit the house. He never felt incredibly brave. The train ride was interesting as he talked with other first years about the school. It was once he got to school that the nerves kicked in quite a bit. Luckily his surname started with a B and he was sorted shortly after the start of the ceremony. He sat upon the stool with the sorting hat upon his head. In the end he was sorted into Gryffindor, he had been excited but he wondered why. He thought maybe he'd be a better fit for Ravenclaw but the hat saw more into him than even he had. His first year was one that took some getting used to. He did well in his classes and made a handful of friends. Christmas beak had been a fun one. He shared with with his siblings the stories from the school. Vera, his newest sibling was the first one to greet him when he got off the train and he'd given her a big hug. Only a few weeks later he went back to school And soon enough his first year was over. Back onto the scarlet train that took him back to King's Cross and back to the Blenkinsop farm. Matthew's second year started with Jacob and him getting on the Hogwarts Express together. He'd found a compartment for his brother with other first years and then went off to see his own friends with promises to see Jacob after the sorting ceremony. And that was what he did. Once he arrived at the school he went up on the horseless carriages up to the castle where he found himself among the Gryffindors sitting with his friends. And soon his brother was up on the stool with the hat upon his head. He watched as the house happily announced that he was a Gryffindor as well. And with a great smile and he hopped up and clapped with the rest of his house. This year went a lot more smoothly for the eldest Blenkinsop and he once again did well in his classes. Matt enjoyed school and did his best to get the marks he needed for his years. But he became a lot more outspoken. He was a friendly boy who enjoyed making the connections that wanted with people. Maybe this was better, maybe being Gryffindor had helped him with this. Maybe had he been sorted into Ravenclaw, he would be a quiet boy with his nose tucked deep in a book. Instead he enjoyed company really became who he was supposed to be. Matthew was excited for his third year. He selected quite a few elective courses but maybe to his father's disappointment Care of Magical Creatures was not one of those classes. He felt like he could learn what he needed from his father under that and he didn't want to work with magical creatures like his father, and so many in their family before him. But the year was great and even with more classes he did well. It was the summer after that things got a little sad. Their uncle had died in an accident while working with dragons. Their cousin, a year older than Matthew, Wyatt was going to come live with them. He remembered wearing his black suit for the funeral and he had no idea how to react. Matthew and Wyatt had known each other since they were babies but they'd never really been super close, they were even sorted into the same house at Hogwarts. But he was now his brother. Fourth year Matthew decided to drop one of his electives, the Study of Ancient Runes, he decided that it wasn't going to be any good for him when he got older. He hadn't been sure exactly what he wanted to do but after the previous year he found he had no use for it. Fifth year was difficult for Matthew as he worked on his O.W.L.s he worked hard and ended up with the classes that he deemed important to focus on. He was smart and he wasn't incredibly worried about his marks but sometimes it was stressful, especially when everyone else in his year were stressing out. Abigail joined them in his sixth year at school but Matthew had a habit of sitting with his friends over his large family on the train to Hogwarts. He enjoyed being with them a bit more, not that he didn't love his family it was that he had such limited time with his friends. During his N.E.W.T.s level years he worked hard so that he could have a job that he wanted. It was his Magical Literature class that made him want to be a writer it wasn't until his seventh year that he decided to try a different path of career. When he got the N.E.W.T.s to do pretty much whatever he wanted with the exception of a few careers mostly in the ministry and anything to do with magical creatures, he'd been excited. But it was after that that he and Wyatt and went on a trip to the Alps. It was a nice way to get closer to the male that had been his cousin since he was born and his brother for the other decent portion of his life. It was an amazing holiday and he became much closer to Wyatt by the end of the trip. It was when they got back that he discovered about the barn fire. Jacob had ended up splinched from apparating to the hospital. It'd worried Matthew about his brother but it was something that happened and life moved on. For the year after he came back from the Alps he worked on his job plan. He'd become rather good with people and decided instead of writing that he could work to become a publicist and focused on public relations between anyone who requested his help. In the wizarding world that meant helping the bands, writers, and anyone who was anyone, he also worked with muggles for their medias doing the same thing. He enjoyed spreading his talents between the two worlds. Jacob had left the house not too long after leaving Hogwarts for South America. Matthew had said his goodbyes to his brother as he left. He never understood why his brother had to take the trip but then again Wyatt and himself left for the Alps, so he had no place to judge or really wonder. And during the time that Jake was gone their father had come ill and he found himself taking a step back from work and helping more on the farm with his father. He made sure things got taken care of properly helped to make sure that everyone was taken care of. He made choices that he had to make to make sure that everything would be fine. It was then that Jake had come back and Matt was so glad. He was better at this farming thing. And what had meant to be a visit turned into a long stay, Matt was happy that Jake stayed and helped with the farm. It was after their father was better that Jake took a leave to work with Dragons again and it was then that Matt himself decided that he could no longer live on his father's farm, not that he ended up that far away. Matthew moved out at the age of twenty and bought an old farmhouse for sale just up the road from his parents home. The property was large and Matthew had no want to work a farm so he rented the land to another farmer, a muggle farmer, in town to do as he pleased. Cows were on the property and just the farmhouse and the old barn were left for Matthew. He was fine with this. He loved that he didn't have to care for the property as much. Make sure the fences were all sounds, the house would be properly liveable and the barn could be turned into something that it was probably never meant for. Matthew was born a simple farm boy, but made a life in a world that he would have never believed. He worked hard for what he had and now finds himself in a happy mix between where he came from and where he is now. Most of his days when not spent working with clients are spent working on his home. The old farmhouse has white paint that his chipping away and the inside definitely still needs repair. He wants to turn the barn into a guest house and open his home like his father had to anyone who needed help. And he's incredibly proud of all that he has now. Let's us all just be friend, And together we can start a new trend. ALIAS: Jess AGE: 23 DISCOVERY: My dear Paige!
